Does Yorr take the stress for Fel before he gets his focus or does Fel get his focus be caused he received stress but Yorr took the stress token?

We played it that Fel got the focus, then Yorr took the stress.

I think you misplayed it.

Soontir Fel: "When you receive a stress token, you may assign 1 focus token to your ship."

Captain Yorr: "When another friendly ship at Range 1-2 would receive a stress token, if you have 2 or fewer stress tokens, you may receive that token instead ." (emphasis mine)

Because Yorr specifically "receives the token instead " there would not have been a point where Fel actually received the stress token. Combined with that, Fel does not get a focus token for doing something stressful, he receives it in response to actually receiving a stress token (regardless of how it got there).

Yorr doesn't take a stress token off of Fel, it never gets there in the first place.

I think I'd agree. Yorr prevents the stress token from getting to the target, so Fel would of never had it in the first place so his effect wouldn't trigger.

Yorr and Fel never got along well in the academy.

After rereading everything, you may be right. Each of those cards use the word "recieve". If it would go to Soontir first, it would make the Shuttle much more valuable, especially as a combo with PTL.

In this case it made no difference because I was quickly defeated.

No worries, it was good to just get out and play. My dice were hot that first game though. When I come back through, I'll definitely hit you up, to see if you are available to play.
