Me neither. And I'm a European hehe ![]()
Feeling a bit let down.
It is times like these that you have to think outside the box and understand the true nature of the Force.....Take 5 lbs of Doggie doo and make yourself an asteroid field....Everyone can make their own sound effects Pew Pew Pew....Never give up,Never surrender

Very much not a Troll, Very much a hardcore X-wing Player and prob more so then a lot of the posters on here, I was just wanting the new ships too balance more, the B-wing is my biggest moan...Why so much Hull and shields, why haven't they given at least 1 shield to the tie bomber, the lambda is ok I guess and the Moldy cheese ......well the less said about that the better.....I really think this wave has been about the cards.
Well wave 3 is definitely a combination of new ships and new cards which bolster some of the earlier ships as well as the new ones. I don't know why you think the B-Wing is unbalanced, for example - it's got average hull, just great shields - the exact same stats as the Y-Wing for defense, but flipped. It is an assault ship and would be lousy at it if it had bad agility AND no defenses.
I think they nailed the B-Wing, with a decent hull, excellent shields, poor defense but good low speed maneuverability. That is EXACTLY what that ship should be. They wanted to do a pair of support ships and a pair of heavy assault ships, and I think they nailed it. Obviously their choices won't be to everyone's taste. And if they didn't give 1 shield to the Bomber I suspect it's because the Bomber doesn't have shields in the canon. If you want to GIVE one a shield, its called Shield Upgrade and costs you 4 points. ![]()
I can agree that the wave 3 Imperial ships are not that exciting, but that has been pretty clear for a while now since early previews and spoilers. TIE bomber had to be done, and while the shuttle doesn't amaze me as part of a combat unit it looks great and has plenty of potential for scenario play. I am hoping for exciting things from wave 4 now that all the required trilogy ships are complete, the possibilites for the TIE Defender are great and I would love to see what they come up with for another imperial ship now that they can add whatever they want.
naturally the bomber has no shields as it is not a shielded craft in the star wars universe
Edited by Effenhoogi have to mention that when i saw this game come out i didnt want anything to do with it for fear it would be worse than episode I.
so i ignored it as long as i could. also not many of my gaming group are as big a fan boy as me and was afraid i would be throwing money away.
but to my surprise, i bought 2 starters, we played it, and we all loved it.
we have passed on warhammer 40k for almost 2 months now and have been playing x-wing instead.
we are finally going to play 40k tomorrow for the first time in a long time
Okay. Let's pretend that someone here at this forum doesn't know what the EU is refaring to...? Other than European Union that is
Yeah, Europeans are weird and have their own Star Wars ships.
I still don't know what the hell a Zed-Wing is supposed to be.
Zed is canadian
TIE Swarms are still dominating the tournament scene and are evidently the most powerful list that can be flown. A tournament I was in last sunday had 7 out of 10 players fielding swarms.
That said I'm eager to try the bomber. That many warheads against lower agility fighters has got to be exciting.
A bunch of friends and I all got a few ships at gencon. We have been super impressed with the Bomber. I think you are going to be surprised how useful it really is in a number of different lists. The B-Wing is well balanced, not too cheap for what it is, but not overpowered for how much it costs. Ibtisam is a badass, but expensive. Both the Shuttle and HWK are fun as well in their support roles.
I think it's going to be extra fun to see how the different lists shake out over the next couple months before November.
This game has "only" been around a year, there is plenty of scope for new ships. They can also easily release new cards for old ships to improve them (adding hard points or removing them for different stats).
I come from playing 40k, and games workshop is terrible for releasing balanced units or updating models/rules. I'm loving where x wing is at the moment, the fast paced nature of the game, the possibility of forces being greater then the sum of their parts thanks to buffing and debuffing, although I'm still pretty new to the game.
And let's not forget.. GW products are stupid expensive...

stupid is to nice a word,
really, i have stopped buying their stuff.
im gonna spend $80 for a flyer that can get shot down in 1 turn?
NO!!!!!!
im just about done with them, they are pricing me out of their hobby.
i can buy a whole squadron for xwing at that price and have more fun with it.
the only thing GW is got coming that might keep me playing is the new ork codex. if i didnt have 12000 points of orks from the past 20 years ive been playing i wouldnt play, i just dont need to buy anything any more, so i wont. and the coolest thing about orks is you can scratch build most of your vehicles. ![]()
but this game is fun, lets hope disney doesnt buy FFG and this will stay cool enough for me.

Let's not mention the $56 rule book for a single army... God...
Yes, lets not mention that ![]()

i must be playing a diffrent 40k *points to Tau* been a tau player since i began 40k and i got to say that GW do know how to make balance units, hack the whole army is the most balance army there is and there is there are no visible individual stand out units or profile such as cheap units/ high T, or just being orks (and no i did't count unit synergy since that is kinda say image for an army)
*hah rant over*
anyway back on topic, so far i find that this game is preety much well design and executed greatly with it's well tought out system and stand out units that arn't OP (though i feel that the wave 1 ships needs some ereta to them).
complaining about a game that is bearly 2 years old and of all things the addition of a game play module only avalible to a single faction is plain premature and comes out kinda whiny.
if you want to complain about the game complain on the hard stance that FFG has on only limiting to 2 factions, although i understand that it's mostly to streamline game play, but i think FFG might eat their words a few years down the road when power creep and diversity of game play and design starts to be repetitive. though i don't for see this happening soon as long as FFG plans to join the European Union ![]()
I know how you feel about GW and 40k...I have been more or less collecting on and off for a decade or two...buying some things, getting a new rulebook and codex since I find out after years a lot has changed....and then a new rulebook and codex come out a year after you drop for a rulebook and codex....I was a bit peeved to say the least. I have several units and a flyer I have yet to put together and/or finish painting for my ultramarines.
What is this? A horsey? Oh, I get two of them, ok. But it moves so much weirder than my castle, my pointy-guy, and my powerful woman here. And what is this? A short little dude? I get 8 of them, you say, but they can only go STRAIGHT!?!?! AND SLOWLY!?!?! Ugh, these things are going to be a menace to run. Why can't I just have an army of castles, pointy-guys, and my powerful woman?
Oh, I need to play with the whole lot of them before I really understand how they work together as an army. Ok, well, I guess we should set up a game so I can figure out how all of these pieces work together then.
