I am feeling let down with the new empire ships.
I am also a little let down that the rebels get capitals and the empire misses out.
I Get the feeling that FFG are loosing interest.

Losing interest in their greatest success ever? Unlikely.

There is NO Disturbance in The Force.
This game has "only" been around a year, there is plenty of scope for new ships. They can also easily release new cards for old ships to improve them (adding hard points or removing them for different stats).
I come from playing 40k, and games workshop is terrible for releasing balanced units or updating models/rules. I'm loving where x wing is at the moment, the fast paced nature of the game, the possibility of forces being greater then the sum of their parts thanks to buffing and debuffing, although I'm still pretty new to the game.
The way they were talking at Gen Con there's probably a big Imperial release in there too that they're saving for a big announcement.
I would wait on assuming there is no large Imperial ships. Just because the rebels were the only thing that was spoiled doesn't mean its the only thing we will get. I have to say that if I was going to announce a capitol ship class and I had the options of the Tantive 4, the GR 75, and two EU Imperial ships (because lets face it, if they are going to release something reasonable its going to need to be EU), I would start with the Tantive and GR 75 and get everyone hyped about that before showing off some ships that many people won't recognize.
And personally I think the wave 3 Imperial ships are ace. They maybe just don't fit well with everyone's play style.

So far I'm quite pleased and I DO HOPE for pilot/upgrade expansion pack of cards. Along with...
Plenty of room to grow, plenty of ideas,
[Edited] - P.S. I love the Tantive IV and GR-75. Duh...

I can understand that you are disappointed that there are no capital ships for empire yet, but i am sure they will come pretty soon. I would not expect Star destroyers though. Perhaps sone patrol craft or smaller frigate. Also maybe they will at least release an imperial version of the CR90.
I cannot understand your disappointment by the wave 3 imperial ships, i have a feeling they are better than the rebel releases regarding competition.
And i really can't understand why you think FFG is losing interest. Additions come at a really fast pace and to be honest they look awesome! Production capabilities are limited and that's why sometimes there were supply shortages but i really do not see a lack of interest in that... They are victims of their own success rather

This is either a troll or a really good impersonation of one. ![]()
You can't really argue the company is losing (not loosing) interest in their game the same week they just released a new expansion for it. First off, it keeps selling out and is a big cash cow for them, so even if it was for purely mercenary reasons they're going to stay interested in this game for some time. And I can tell you from experience that the FFG guys love the game, whatever you think about them.
Now, granted, the Imperials don't get a B-Wing, and obviously that makes Imp players very sad pandas. But they do now outnumber the Rebels in medium-based ships 2-1, get the only ship that can pull the parking brake as a combat maneuver, and a very versatile missile/torpedo/bomb platform. The Lamda is also a terrific support ship, and its one downside compared to the HWK (the range of its abilities) is offset by its generally superior stat line and the fact that the size of its base basically spans range 1 anyway.
We don't know in detail yet how FFG plans to use the new big ships, but they did state it's not going to be for regular competitive/tournament play; more for scenario-based, asymmetrical game play. So it's not like they're giving the Rebels a major competitive edge or something.
The Imperial ships are also much harder to figure out, scale-wise, which I suspect is why we didn't see one right away. I've seen their Corvette in person and it's a beast. A Star Destroyer is ten times the size - the Corvette fits inside of its main docking bay as seen in Star Wars. Obviously that's unfeasible for a lot of reasons. So what do they make it? Five times the size? Three times? Twice? And the Imperials arguably just don't have a ton of other ships that are AS iconic, so I'm sure we'll see something down the road, but it's a much harder beast to hammer out something like a Star Destroyer.
Anyway, seriously - I can't tell if you're just trolling, or what - if so, well played, I guess, as far as that goes. If you don't like the new Imperial ships? Uh, sorry, I guess? Not every ship is going to be to everyone's taste, but they decided Wave 3 was going to be a combination of support ships and heavy weapons platforms, and they nailed that. They just put out the third major expansion for the game literally two days ago. They've already announced the release of the big ships, Cinematic combat rules, etc, and I'm sure it won't be a lot further down the road before they start leaking some info on what to expect in wave 4. Hopefully we'll have a new FAQ coming soon with wave 3 updates.
But any way you cut it, I'm not sure how you can logically argue they're losing interest in the game. ![]()
Don't feed the trolls. Don't even acknowledge them. Just plain ignore them.
These aren't the trolls you are looking for. You can go about your business. Move along.

Who's they? ... Well what in the hell is an Aluminum Falcon?
The only thing I am feeling let down about is when you want to buy more ships from Wave one and it takes two quarters to get them out again.
I would say of all the things that is the most annoying, not to mention frustrating that could make me stop playing. They have to get a better handle on stock and having these available for the player that played since day one and the player that just started.
That's tough. Stock is a hard thing for them to figure out - too little and nobody can get the ships they want and everybody is mad. Flood the market and they're flushing money down the drain and stores will cut back their orders for the next batch coming up, since all of a sudden their shelves are full of the previous wave or two of ships, and they're losing money there, too.
I suspect things should start easing up soon. People will be busy buying wave 3, which should maybe lower demand for the wave 1 stuff when it starts getting restocked.
So, lesson learned? When the wave one re-release does come out, don't dawdle. Get what you think you need right away. That way if there is a run on any of the four ships you'll be covered.
I think future Waves will only improve the quality of the game. 11 of the 12 ships we have currently HAD to be done. They were in the films and so there was no option about it. We were going to see them sooner rather that later. And that meant the types of ships we would get was somewhat limited too. A bomber is a bomber. It has to play a certain way to be true to its use and design in the Star Wars Uniiverse. As future waves have really no where to go but the EU, and since the EU is full of variety in ship design and use, anything is possible. I'm excited about the possibilities as we head into the EU

Agreed. I pre-ordered two of each ship in this wave because I knew I'd want at least two, and wouldn't have to sweat hunting down more later. If I found and wanted some, great. If not, ah well, I'll keep my eyes peeled. I'm actually kind of morbidly curious to see how fast the shelves go from overstuffed to gone this time.
Okay. Let's pretend that someone here at this forum doesn't know what the EU is refaring to...? Other than European Union that is ![]()

Expanded Universe. It's what they call pretty much everything Star Wars, that wasn't the movies.
So the video games, novels, comic books, RPG's, ect...
Edited by VanorDMAh. Of cause. Guess I should have guessed that

Yeah, Europeans are weird and have their own Star Wars ships.
I still don't know what the hell a Zed-Wing is supposed to be. ![]()
