Heir to the empire trilogy and Dark empire series ships for future waves?

By KILODEN, in X-Wing

i really hope we start to see these ships.

in heir to the empire, thrawn had techs putting shields on interceptors, as the empires resources went from inexhaustable to every ship matters.

also they used a fighter called the Preybird

Lando's lady luck

this would include the Skipray

also, something i think will add a whole new twist to the game..... Space troopers

then in the Dark Empire comics you have:

droid TIE fighter

E-wing

A9 Vigilence

V-wing

how about troop transports/drop ships?

Well,Interceptors can be equipped with the shield upgrade.

I'd love to see a Chiss clawcraft myself.

The pilot cards have expanded into the EU, there is no reason we wouldn't have EU ships. Although if they include spacetroopers, would you be able to see the mini?

yep, you could, I've got l000s of soldiers at 1/300 scale.

Can Horton hear them?

oh yes,

the space trooper is an exoskeleton, maybe half as tall as an x-wing is long

the stormtrooper crawls into it from a hatch between its shoulders.

it has a mini-proton torpedoe launcher and lasers

I'm willing to bet spacetroopers will not happen.

Would love to see the 1000's of intergalactic stormtroppers....Never give up , Never surrender

Holy crow that is an awesome sight...Mine used to talk......Paint M

e..... lol....Yours are ready for planetary invasion......Never give up, Never surrender

i think i miss spoke, they are considered Zero-g Assault troopers,

it wont let me attach pictures here, but google zero-g assault trooper and you will see what im talking about, they are like a space marine terminator only i think a little bulkier

GW epic assault marines wouldn't be far off I think

assault-detachments.jpg

btw, I don't think they would work amazingly well in X-Wing, I can see them being really good dropped off to assault a capital ship. But I can't see them working vs fighters, I can't see them moving fast enough. Unless they were like Iron Man, and I think units of Iron Mans (yes maybe this should be Iron Men, but Iron Man is a trade mark, so I feel this plural works better in this case) don't really fit the Star Wars universe very well. Sealed Stormtroopers with maneuvering jets to work in vacuum I'm fine with.

i imagine them as slow moving turrets

the manuevering jets allowing them to move 1 in any direction.

hell, at the very least they could be a cardboard counter, dropped like a mine behind an assault shuttle.

the assault shuttle is what carries them into battle anyway. you just drop this turret behind you as you go and if it gets shot at and is hit, it is removed from play

but it will be shooting out in all directions at pilot skill 1

They could come with a new mission: Roadkill! :)

I hope we never see the Lady Luck. That is one of the worst ship designs ever. It's like the Star Wars equivalent of the Oscar Mayer weinermobile.

V-wing was an airspeeder, not a spacecraft so we probably won't see it. I have my doubts about droid Tie Fighter too. First, that ships doesn't offer anything new to the game. It's basically a Tie Fighter... piloted by a droid brain... wow, who would have thought. But it would have same stats and very simillar, maybe slightly better maneuvers than regular Tie Fighter. I would rather see some new pilots for Tie Fighter, than new, slightly different ship.

Ramming speed sir?

Shields up; double front; full ahead! You may hear a couple of thuds as we pass through this debris!

[Edit] - I agree I too would love to see an expansion pack of pilot cards.

Shouldn't they wait to see how the EU will change with episode 7 being made.?

also the zero-g assault troopers could be a template, like the prox. mine. You just drop them out the back, and wait for enemy ships to fly through.

Barbus,

i see what you are saying about the droid ties, but think of it like this.

the world devastators pumped these things out in huge swarms, and they were also blown to bits easily.

i imagine a stat line like this:

attack = 2

defense = 2

hull = 2

shields = 0

and the generic units get no actions made available to them. only droid characters do, think of them as a flying R2-D2.

points would be super low, like 8

now you really have a swarm ship

They could do a "Shadows of the Empire" wave:

Rebels:

Outrider, Dash Rendar's ship (http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Outrider)

Mist Hunter, Zuckuss's ship (http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Mist_Hunter)

Empire:

Virago, Xizor's ship (http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Virago)

IG-2000, IG-88's ship (http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/IG-2000)

This is brilliant, but it would kinda screw up my hopes for a Bounty Hunters-only expansion with Mist Hunter, Bossk's Hound's Tooth, IG-2000, and Dengar's Punishing One.

Zuckuss was a bounty hunter, why would that be a rebel ship?

In the EU, Zuckuss and 4-LOM started working for the Rebels after they were hired by the Empire to search for the Falcon. They helped protect a Rebel Transport and get it to the rendezvous.

The story was in one of the "Tales" collections, but I forget which one.

Tales of the Bounty Hunters?
