Cheap PF generator (Goliath factory ship)

By LordBlades, in Rogue Trader

My group is looking to acquire a (not very expensive) ship that would help us increase PF faster, both by supporting us on Endeavors and doing Trade stuff on it's own.

Here's what I have so far

Goliath-class factory ship

Essential components:

Lathe pattern class 1 drive

Miloslav G-616.b Warp Engine

Belecane-Pattern 90.r Gellar Field

Single Void Shield Array (we also have an Eldar Holo Field laying around)

Commerce Bridge

Vitae Pattern Life Sustainer

Bilge Rat Quarters

R-50 Auspex Multi-Band

Supplemental Components (most to be added post purchase):

Main Cargo Hold x2 (built in)

Mars Pattern Macrocannons (Dorsal)

2x Jovian Missile Battery (Port&Starboard)

Luxury Passenger Quarters

Shadowblind Bays

Trophy Room

Pharmacia

This would give us a bonus in achievement points of

Trade 550

Exploration 100

Criminal 225

Creed 100

Any 100 (from refinery)

What do you think? Is this good enough? Can it be improved?

good bonuses but they will have to remember, there are always bigger fish and they may look tastier with such a useful ship

If we're just trying to crank up Achievement Points then some upgrades might also help.

Cherubim Aerie - Common Quality adds 1d10 + 10 to all Endeavours, Best gives you a flat 20.

Distributed Cargo Hold - 50 Achievement Points for Criminal Endeavours. Best gives you 75.

Ostentatious Displays of Wealth - Adds 25 Achievement Points to Criminal and Trade endeavours.

Given your insane amount of Trade Points you should also give one of your PCs the ship role of High Factotum so that you can shore up any Endeavours that aren't going as well.

Well, most of the stuff in there is about as common as it gets for spaceships (Scarce, with only a couple of things Rare). If you want any of it, I'd expect there are much easier ways to get it rather than mess around with a Rogue trader with strong ties to the Inquisition which might either be very close to being named an Agent of the Throne (might actually be one already by the time we get the Goliath).

How much PF will they have to invest to get a ship like that?

AFAIK you don't need to invest any PF to acquire a ship, just make an Acquisition Test vs your PF-ship's worth in SP (which is only 25 for the Goliath).

That should net you a ship with all the essential components.

The rest of the supplemental components shall be added one-by-one later (acquisition tests for them aren't that hard).
