Custom Ships, cards, and dials

By KILODEN, in X-Wing

does anyone want to see FFG release rules for creating your own unique pilots and or ships?

40k did something like this in 4th edition. you followed a vehicle generation table, choosing different options and the like. each coming with its own point totals, or variable points based on other stats of the model.

they need only to sell this as a kit. each kit will include:

blank pilot cards

stickers depicting the ship (you put the sticker on the card where the picture goes)

then colored number stickers for ship stats (red, green, yello, blue)

stickers for available actions (green)

cardboard ship counters (the ones you put on the bases)

smaller stickers to put on these

then blank manuever dials with arrow stickers to put on them.

and these rules could allow you to modify stock ships so you could use them as experimental ships or pirate/mercenary ships. but with every upgrade you create some kind of flaw or receive some kind of penalty.

well, does this sound cool?

It is cool, but I do not think FFG is going to do this, so we need to do it for ourselves.

Only for capital ships. There are so many and they exist outside the "normal" realm of standard games that I think they could be workable to represent special spacecraft for the needs of a scenario. I'd expect it as an online PDF release, not something you could get in a store.
