off topic....but a great topic!!! miniature related. :)

By Soulfly626, in X-Wing

I have ordered this game since I am only 21 years old, I know about Robotech because of my older brother. Once I saw this game was being funded by Kickstarter, I immediately jumped on board. I am a "Backer" to this project and cannot wait until it comes out in November/December. Never painted a miniature in my life so this would be a good start to it.

I'm so bumed out I missed it.

I would have gotten the $140 battle cry set.

oh well....

Now all I need is a gundam 0079 miniature games and it would be a perfect world for me.

x-wing, robotech and gundam 0079.....that would great.

but yes...painting isn't my strongest skill!

It's ok. It'll be great quality time I could spend with my 13 year old son.

Interesting buildings that would be great to play with Robotech but I will wait until the game comes out and I get my big package. Sucks that you missed the kickstarter, if you would have jumped on it. You would have gotten a lot of stuff than the base game. Especially the extra add-ons because they are made to order. Expansions would slowly be released. I got myself the Mk-II Monster and it is only produced as needed. It most likely won't come out until next year.

Good for you!!!

I may get a jump on some of the buildings just start geting my field of play ready.

My wife is going to hate me....so i need to buy her something nice for less wife aggro!!

Haha just wait until the game comes out on retail before you start buying buildings or go to your local gaming store that already have pre-made terrain and play there.

i was able to get in on the kickstarter. picked up a couple of the showdown packages and extras. cant wait for it to release but that's a lot to have to paint lol

I want to buy the Robotech stuff so bad but I don’t know if I can afford to take on another miniatures game right now.

I know what you mean....we are spoiled with X-wing when it comes to painting.....but we pay for it.

:)

Getting ready to order it right now... Do you know what exactly comes with the box set??? I seen different things from different sources. I looks like the Veritech/battle pod ratio is very similar to the xwing/tie fighter in this game.

this site has them included hmmm http://www.thewarstore.com/product88629.html

Oh well....I'll buy them separate...but l have a feeling this is going to be a $500 game but well worth it. looks to be just as fun as this game.

Didn't get in on the Kickstarter, but I am planning to try it out. Although if you were to play with me, it would be called Macross, and the Veritechs would be Valkyries, etc. :-)

I am looking forward to its release though. It's one of my favorites of all time.

I know what you mean!! Reason #1 I love my ps3 and psp/vita...I can get all the Japanese macros games!!! :) I hope they don't add mospeda to this!!!

They will, and that isn't a bad thing to be honest. It ads some sustainability to the game. I figure it will only have a short shelf run. There's only so much there for them to use.

I want my Strike Valkyrie. Somehow this will be a mini.

but on the bright side....you can play this in space and on land. short or not...I can think of so many scenarios to play. missions based skirmishes are going to be fun. Thank God the Minmay soundtrack isn't required to play :P

Haha have the same idea as you but of course a scenario in my head is to have the Zentraedi have unlimited Battlepod reinforcements for each of them that are destory can respawn in the next turn and have the UEDF have a time limit to hold out to win. UEDF must hold their position to win and the Zentraedi to destory them to win. Of course the Zentraedi out number the UDEF 2 to 1 and have this playing in the background ;)....... EPIC!

If this becomes successful I cannot wait to get a CYCLONE!!!!! gah  They do want to do all of the Robotechs!

scale wise don't you think they'll be too small? The alpha fighters for sure. Invid shock troopers are my fave.

Ok, if/when the game introduces Invid, I will be powerless to resist.
Although, give me a hovertank any day.

It probably won't be in true scale to the minis, no. Although it is power armor in a way, so it is bigger than standard infantry. What I really want to see is how it plays. I've seen the videos. I want to test it for myself. The one thing about combat in that universe is how fast it is. It wasn't static (like Battletech....of sorts). How they simulate the constant motion of the Valkyries, the changing, and their speed is going to be interesting.

I agree about the scale, scale is never a deal breaker for me.

One more thing about the Cyclones, they transform too!!! The agility should be great when transformed into a fighters up close. This game will be very fast paced for sure. Which I like. This game is for the fans for sure. I hope it does well.
