Visenya's Hill

By Khalpongo, in 2. AGoT Rules Discussion

if you want to save a character from being killed you just have to discard a duplicate..

if so, a copy of that card it is then put to his/her discard pile.

Q: what if you used VISENYA'S HILL while the copy of the card that you have put into dead pile from your discard pile was still in play? Can you still play that card? Or it automatically placed to dead pile or invalid? Just cancelled event cards or other cards, if its cancelled itll go to discard pile.

If a copy of a unique character is placed into the dead pile while a copy is still in play, nothing happens except moving the card from the discard pile to the dead pile. The only thing prevented by a copy being in the dead pile is you cannot play or put into play a copy from your hand/deck/shadows/etc if it is out of play and a copy of that unique is in the dead pile.

anything else (events/locations/attachments/etc) are automatically placed in the discard pile when they leave play. When it comes to events, this is whether executed or cancelled... the exception is if the card says "deathbound" in the keyword section of the text box. then it is placed in the dead pile, and, if it is unique, you cannot play another copy while there is one in your dead pile.

so, you can still play that card in play until it is chosen to be killed?

The cards stays in play until an effect sends it somewhere else.

If you're referring to playing a dupe on the unique character that is still in play, yes. You can do so, as long as a copy remains in play, regardless of a copy being in the dead pile.

The word "play" technically denotes taking a player action (or response action) to either Marshall a card or initiate an event from hand. So you can not "play" a card that is in the dead pile in that technical sense.

In the general sense, the character can still be declared as an attacker, defender, and trigger effects printed on the card. So in that sense, you can still play with the card.

(What do hashtags even do on Twitter anyway? I've never actually used it and was just putting it here for my own amusement)

Only if it is non-unique or in the case of a dupe.

I was just letting MDC know that he was wrong again. It's almost like a chore.

What if, someone triggers to bounce it back to your hand? i presume you cant play that character anymore?
