Move Power - Discipline roles - Triumph

By Ionman, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

Quick questions about interpreting the dice pool from your Move Power as a weapon Discipline check to hit. The Successes are obvious, extra success equals extra damage on hit. Extra advantage I suppose get used up on magnitude power auto fire triggers.

What does Triumph trigger? Can this power cause critical effects, as it is a weapon? If so, could advantages be spent to trigger similar effects other than "autofire" and what critical threshold does this power have?

The first creative solution that came to mind was allowing a re-roll on a not so favourable force dice roll. Generating and extra light pip. Or, something as simple as flipping a destiny point back to light for the team.

Any other thoughts?

Edit: topic header should read "Rolls" not "Roles" - Just had a root canal, and the Colonist Doctor gave me some gooood stims,

I have it count just like a normal ranged weapon. It can inflict a critical injury or do anything else a triumph can normally do.

If they are throwing multiple items, then two advantages or a triumph can make additional items hit. ETC. That's basically how I handle weapon throwing.

Technically you can't trigger a critical injury/hit with Move, since it doesn't have a Critical Rating the way actual weapons do.

However, I'd say that allowing the Force-user to apply the effects of Disorient, Knockdown, or maybe even Concussive the attack as a result of a Triumph would be both cool and in keeping with the idea of hurling objects at speed into someone.

Yeah, I suppose it'd depend on the thing being thrown. In most cases I'd probably allow a Critical Injury to be triggered with a Triumph, but it's totally situational. I like Dono's suggestion of Knockdown, Disorient, etc.

Note to the OP, however, that to initiate "autofire" with Move, you've gotta increase your difficulty before attacking. You can't just opt to use 2 advantage to trigger autofire on a normal attack, since this follows all the normal autofire rules.
