Do speels count as items fo the Start of the Battle Ithaqua ability?

Spells are items, so they count. So would Exhibit Items, and the Deputy Wagon and Revolver (although I apply the Revolver's no-lose ability. Not sure if this is correct, but what else is that ability for, honestly?).
