Please confirm :

Player A attacks Player B and Player B defends..

Player A then introduces a naval character in order to win the challenge and Player B plays a card that removes him from the challenge.

Can Player A use that same character again as part of the naval mechanic thus making the removal of the naval character irrelevant ?

If the character is stood as a part of the removal effect, then yes. If the character is simply removed and the removal effect does NOT stand the character, then no. (Not all challenge removal effects stand the character.)
