Episode 17 of the Order 66 Podcast with Lead Dev Andy Fischer answering AoR Beta Questions!

By GM Chris, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

We are soooo back, and we are coming at you fine listeners with a long and glorious episode. For the 17th episode of the new Order 66 Podcast, we are joined by FFG Lead Developer for Age of Rebellion, Andy Fischer.

Fish treats us to over 2 hours of epic discussion all about the recently released Age of Rebellion Beta, with answers to listener questions about the book and rules. Lots of discussion on how to properly co-mingle Obligation and Duty, how "duplicate" specializations work, thoughts behind Knowledge: Galactic Civil War, and much, much more.

An amazing show. We want to thank Andy Fischer for taking his time for all of us. ;)

Does it answer the question as to why it's not up on the site yet? Either way, I never listen to the Order 66 Podcast.

American humour, it took me a while to puzzle out what was so funny about the word Duty.

Great episode though GM_Chris.

It is!! (and has been) It's just that our illustrious producer put LAST episode's title in for the new episode on the feed. So Episode 17 had the same title as Episode 16. This problem has now been corrected. ;)

Welcome to crass Texan humor, Fuzzy.

And I'm glad you enjoyed the episode!

Oh, I was actually talking about the Beta book itself, but good to hear the problem with the show was fixed.

Yeah... We DO ask Fischer about that...

I didn't get it either... no, tell a lie. I got it and thought it was lame. Much like in Wreck It Ralph.

Yeah... We DO ask Fischer about that...

Yeah, I listened to it at work today and was a tad bit mad with his answer. Then again, I didn't expect him to say something on there and the site not say anything about it. Oh well. Thanks for the great show, though!

I was there, and it was awesome.

Also, Doody humor is always funny.

"Y'know...'doody.'"

"...poo."

Yes, but in my country poo is kak or kakka. Also with our accent Duty doesn't sound anything like Doody. So it took a while to connect the dots, but that's fine! No one gets South African humor either.

Friends:)

And actually, knowing a few South Africans myself, I find their humor very...humorous.

I put the last couple phrases in quotes...it was a Friends reference; didn't mean to insinuate that you didn't get the joke :)

Lol, now Friends is a generation reference, I'm just a little bit too young to catch that one also a lack of a TV in the 90s probably stunted my growth there.

Anyway, we digress, back to the top at hand. Is it just me or did Andy contradict what Sam said about the hanger mod?

My Shadowrun table giggled like little schoolgirls for six months every time the term "Johnson" came up. This whole duty business has got nothin' :)

The thing I most want to hear out of Andrew at this point is that the various typos, errors and developer clarifications from Edge of the Empire will be cleaned up/implemented for Age of Rebellion. If that happens, I'll be happy to make it my new default rulebook for EotE.

I didn't promise a nice answer. Just that we DID ask him about it. ;)

Lol, this is very true, you didn't promise anything.

At Order 66, we promise very little! But we deliver a lot! (And if we fail to do that - at least we didn't promise you anything.) ;)

That should be the tagline for the next show, seriously lol
