Shadows of a Black Sun PDF... Now Available!

By Donovan Morningfire, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

how long would you say this adventure would take? I wanna run it as a one shot. Thanks!

I'm currently running this adventure for my group. We typically play 4-5 hours a session, and we only got half way through the module on the first session. Granted some of that time was spent rolling up a character for a new player, and a lot more of that time was spent setting up the story.

The adventure just kind of picks up en media res, which didn't work out for me since I threw this story in as part of an ongoing adventure, so there was a transition in story that had to take place.

Unless you are pushing your players and they are constantly moving, I would plan on this being a 2-session adventure.

FFG make kickstarter to be able to afford the licensing to sell digital versions of the books.

My understanding is just that they don't currently have a license to sell digital products. Whether the license is available or not, or just too expensive I don't think we (the fans) know.

Admittedly I've not insider-insight into the situation where FFG was concerned, but I remember hearing various lead designers from WotC through the various iterations remarking that for them, the cost of a separate license to sell PDFs was simply too prohibitive for what was (to them) a secondary product line.

Hopefully when it comes time to renew the license, FFG will have a strong enough bargaining posture that in conjunction with LucasArts being reduced as much as it has been that they can get the PDF rights included with the RPG rights... but that's not going to be for at least another couple years (presuming a 5 year license agreement and that they procured it in 2010). But until that point, it's pretty much a moot point for FFG, as there's nothing they can really do about the situation.

Yeah I have heard what ou have said and others have said that EA has the digital rights. I have no idea what the current state is.

I have to disagree on nothing they an do until it is time to renegotiate. Agreements can be amended before they expire. However, renegotiating may be the best time to acquire he rights since the mone involved is probably very small for Disney/LFL that they don't want to address it now. But who knows.

Is anyone else having issues downloading the hi-res version?
