Forceweapons and Spectral Hands?

By Loco Raoul, in Dark Heresy Gamemasters

Our Psyker wants to use his Forcesword with the Spectral Hands Power. I think its didnt works, but iam not shure.

Personally, as a GM I wouldn't allow it.

For the simple reason: wielding a sword is a precision act, which the spectral hands power does not allow for.

What was his reasoning for wanting this effect. Was he trying to attack a foe that was out of reach or was he just reading into the part of the power that says the force has a strength = to your wp and hoping to up his dmg bonus?

Precision Telekinesis, however, I could see an argument for since it states that you can manipulate objects as if you were physically holding them.

He wants to use Spectral Hands to wield his Force Sword? I would say that's next to impossible. First of all, Spectral Hands is not sustainable, so he can pick up his Force Sword with it but unless he grabs it by hand before the end of the round, it'll just fall to the ground. Secondly, even if it was sustainable, I would consider swinging a weapon of any kind, be it to attack of parry, as something that requires at least some form of precision, thereby making the power unable to do it.

Thanks for help and arguments. The idea of our relative weak Psyker was that he profits from the WP = ST bonus and the savety of the distance. So it was a good occassion for an ingame attack against the GM.
