Well my favourite characters in middle earth (maybe top 3 for both)...very tough decision...but since LEGOLAS has been in my decks since the very beginning and I still haven't tried Sam...my vote goes to Legolas, who by the way is my favourite hero in the game (and Sam wil very likely be my second favourite)

Legolas. Congrats to Sam on making it this far, and I can't wait to get my hands on him in the next couple of weeks, but my vote has to go to Legolas. I haven't used Sam yet, Legolas is in my favorite sphere, Legolas is an absolute beast in solo and multi-player, and his ability helps progress starved Tactics decks make it through the quest.

Man, neither of my final 4 picks made it to the championship round. I feel defeated. Guess i'll vote for *drumroll*..... Legolas

So we get an unexpected finale and an unexpected winner after all! At least from my point of view.

Legolas has always been my favorite LotR character. In this game and others. Furthermore I am a real fan of elves in general. In this LCG Legolas is a strong hero no doubt. He is a strong attacker, has low threat, awesome art and an ability that proved to be incredibly useful. In our games Legolas has killed hundreds of enemies while exploring critical locations at the same time. What has Sam done? Nothing! I can't imagine this community to vote someone best hero out of the hype for a new set or the love for underdogs! I admit there are actually stronger heroes than Legolas - Elrond and Glorfindel being two of them - but between Sam and Legolas there can be only one winner!

So to make it short my vote goes to Legolas!

Legolas. I'm happy to see a Hobbit make it all the way to the final round, but TACTICS! I'd love to see a tactics hero take this thing.

As Sam, smitten witrh awe over the glory of the elves he so loves, prepares to bow in deference to his companion of the Fellowship, Legolas, the woodland prince stops him and says "my friend, you bow to no one.".

Without Sam, Middle Earth would be crushed under Sauron's boot. Even Legolas knows that the championship should go to Samwise the Brave. Ringbearer, slayer of orcs, gardner, lover of Rosie Cotton, and greatest hero of the entire trilogy.

GO SAM!

Legolas, this was easy... I have already predicted he will win some days ago, though I still believe Glorfindel nd Elrond are far better (but not so keen to all of us for they do not play big part in the books)

THE FINAL

After Legolas and Sam pulled off the upsets of Elrond and Glorfindel during nail-biting tiebreakers, Legolas is drumming Sam. Legolas leads the match by a score of 12-3. An interesting note is that their stats are pretty much even except for Legolas' 1 extra hit point leading to 1 extra threat cost. It begs the question, would the player rather have another hit point or the threat cost lowered by 1? Legolas also has the Ranged keyword over Sam. Sam is the quester, while Legolas, the attacker. Legolas also has more traits going his way. The abilities are both awesome, but who has the upper hand is a subjective answer which I'll leave to the voters. By votes though, it seems they would side with Legolas.

Legolas said, "I'd like to thank all those who helped me during the championship. I could not have done it without you. From Elrohir to Eowyn to Faramir to Glorifindel (Spirit), you all have had my back. It has been an incredible ride. Now just a couple days till we can hoist that championship crown together!"

Sam responded, "Mr. Frodo has been avenged and, now, I am once again the underdog. Well, I have been the underdog from the beginning of this competition when I had my first match with Theoden. Now, a Dain, a Boromir, and an Elrond later, I am still in the competition. That is because Samwise Gamgee never quit and he doesn't plan to now!"

Oh darn it. All allegiances must come to an end sometime, at least in this competition. I cheered for Sam vs. Elrond, but I'm sorry to say that I too must go along with Legolas.

Tactics' saving grace on many a location-locked quest, bowman extraordinaire, and depicted as decidedly not Orlando Bloom. What's not to like?

Commiserations to Sam Gamgee, who I am sure will see lots of play once I get my hands on Black Riders.

Unless we get more voters than in the past, Legolas has already won. 17 is the magic number. Even if everyone else votes for Sam, he cannot win...

Sam is a great hero and worth all the hype. I've already gotten a ton of use out of him...That all being said, after propelling Legolas to the final, I can't turn my back on him now.

After an epic semi-finals for the ages, Legolas dispatched Sam Gamgee in the final with relative ease. This should have been foreseen with so many supporters with his same name.

Sam graciously excepted defeat and said, "I avenged Mr. Frodo and now can return to my bonnie lass, Rosie. My hardiest congratulations to Mr. Legolas. It couldn't have happened to a nicer elf."

As part of his victory speech, Legolas said, "I honestly did not see this coming. I can see about anything else with my elf-vision, but I could not see this. A true honor and what a battle. I will endeavor to continue to be a true hero champion to my supporters in future adventures."

He ended his speech by saying, "My eyes were keen, my aim was true..."
