Dastardly Bounty Hunters

By Englishpete, in X-Wing

Bounty Hunters are a sneaky lot at best. With wave 3 coming out, I thought that these two might have some fun.....

The potential for dishing out crits is just nasty :-)

Looks like it could be solid. Personally I think that Navigator is downright perfect for Fett but I can easily see sabateur working too since his ability can help him get in range.

Something like this could easily be very strong competitively in wave 3. We'll see how well B-Wings and bombers counter large ships.

The main draw backs I see are;

Major:

getting the two proton bombs dropped to maximum effect. I do think though, that even a crit to one ship per bomb is still value as it by-passes shields and could be really bad for the opponent.

Minor:

Having to use the action for Saboteur. This could be somewhat mitigated though as I would be really tempted to use it like a weapon and use it on things in my otherwise blind side arcs. No more avoiding being attacked by hiding to the side. The chance of sustaining an unopposed crit (all be it needing to be on an already damaged ship) is not to be taken lightly.

All in all, the named Firesprays really are gaining a real boost in Wave 3.

I have a concept build for Boba Fett I have been fiddling with but it remains untested

The basic idea is Boba Fett, Navigator, Autoblaster (47 points). Boba Fett's innate ability combined with the navigator and the fact that he is a skill 8 and the firespray has a large base gives him the best chance of getting into range 1 of just about any ship. Additionally you could give him an engine upgrade, which would allow him to boost into range 1, and since the autoblaster's normal hits cannot be cancelled it is probably the best weapon to fire even without a focus or target lock, which is generally the situation after a boost. You could also add push the limit if you really want to stack actions, but personally I'm not a fan of stress tokens on firesprays, or something like veteran instincts to make sure you go last after skill 9s and can adjust your maneuver accordingly

This all makes for a potentially expensive Fett but in something like a dual Firespray build it's not entirely unreasonable and if you have a second large ship you could give them an intelligence agent for even more potential to adjust Fett's maneuver and get him into range 1.

use the last 4 points however you want. Give Krassis a shield upgrade or something
