I have a player that wants to bring in one of the careers from the AoR book. Do you guys see this as being a problem? I could still use the obligation system since the character isn't actually part of the Rebellion at the moment. Just wanted some outside feedback.
Including AoR in EotE
Do any of the specializations in that career have a talent that looks off to you?
Just let him know beforehand that any of the talents, career skills etc. may change when the full version comes out. If he wants to risk it and you don't feel it'll mess up your campaign, go for it.
I'd probably be fine with it, with the caveat that it's still in beta, and things may change, or if I as the GM think something is broken I can tweak.
^ Rule Zero still applies.

What career are they wanting to bring in?

In general, there shouldn't be a problem, since both books use the same basic rules and structure.
However, one thing to bear in mind is that many of the AoR careers have more of a combat slant to them, with many having Ranged (Light) as a career skill, making it very easy for a generally non-combat spec to have at least one rank in a combat skill, specifically a combat skill that covers the most commonly used type of weapons. So that alone is going to make a difference in comparison to the "non-combat" careers in EotE such as Colonist, Explorer, and Technician.

Why not, Han and Chewie were in the Rebellion and they were certainly from the edge of the empire.
