Vs. player without a home had his first games of UFS and loved it. So here I am looking for some deckbuilding advice. I like to build themed, janky, yet competitive (doesnt need to be Tier 1) decks. I am a huge Street Fighter and DarkStalkers fan, and would love to build decks for the following characters:

Ryu

Adon

Zangief

Dhalsim

Dan

Dimitri

John Talbain

and lastly Morrigan and Ken for a friend (these are last priority)

I will DEFINITLY be looking to build King when Tekken comes out so if I can prep for him that would be great as well.

That's a fairly big list. Narrow it down a bit and you might get a better response. Other then that, search the forum for other listed decks, that'll give you some idea of common deck ideas and themes.

looking at that list i would say either adon or dalsim

dalsim us really good especail the enhance of impossible contorsion and adon well speed monkey on crack is rediculas all though i dont know if it was crack he was smoking cause he looks like he needs the loo lol

Actually, I think a Good Ryu deck might be best, especially for a newer player. The nice thing about him is that even if you don't have the cards to buid a fine-tuned machine, he has the capacity to just build momentum over time and eventually win on sheer draw power alone. Plus if you do decide to go pursue cards to make the deck better, Good has many budget-friendly tools both in general, as well specifically for the Ryu deck in the form of momentum stocking. And it has a solid attack lineup without ever venturing beyond commons - Shadow Blade, Thunderbolt, Stardust Drop, Charlie's Fierce Punch, Ichi no Tachi, Vulcan Punch, Knee Gatling...

Cool! I figure Ryu, Dimitri, Adon, and Talbain are what I would want. Block 3 Legal. Ebay seems to be dry on cards, and Coolstuffinc is the only place wioth a big selection...any other places you could recommend?

Also, what rares would you recommend for them?

Cool stuff is the best place to get anything their selection is very large but cheaper then most as far as prices go. Here are the top characters around right now and if you have questions about any of them feel free to message me and i'll tell you how each one works. Right now it's block three (which is the last 5 sets) and anything with a 4 point throwing star on it is legal for tourny play. P.S. The last version of J. Talbain released is no longer legal and has been banned (the version that says whenever your opponent plays a foundation you put one into play committed.)

Chun-li (version that responds after the second form of your opponent's turn)
Seong Mi-na (version with a form that picks up any card in your card pool)
Hanzo (version that places the attack at the bottom of your deck after it deals damage)
Hugo (version that allows you to draw after a foundation is played) < also the only version currently not banned
Morrigan (version that copies any form or enhance played by your opponent)
Andrew Olexa < only one version
Donovan (version that allows your to draw if the attack deals damage)
Victor (version that allows you to pick up a foundation from your staging area)
Sakura (version that allows you to play any card from your discard pile)
Alex (version with a form that allows you to draw X cards)

all of these characters have made top 8 in some tourny within the past year.
