I just got my first X-Wing core set three weeks ago. I have a second starter and some expansion ships in route, but to ocupie myself (until I can play a propper game) I have been looking around the net to see what other people are doing. I found all manner of fun ships at Shapeways and list of Heros & Villians on Wookieepedia.

All of this web sufering Star Wars content has me very interested in aquireing and/or building special models for Pirates, Bounty Hunters, and Rouges.

How many of you have done this, or are thinking about doing it?

We already have Slave 1, and there is a perfectly cool IG-88 ship, The IG-2000 in the correct scale, made by Micro Machines.

What are your thoughs and sugjestons on this?

There are some suggestions for stats for Uglies on A Few Maneuvers. Haven't tried them but really want to mess around with some Deathseeds I really like the look of them... the rest are really Ugly.

SO... the question is if you were doing a pirate force what 6 ships would you choose to represent them (to match the number that the other forces have up to Wave 3).

My personally thing is to have a generic Ugly rather than a card for each type. Then have a upgrade type called something like "Black Market Mod", which they can equip that have positives and negatives. Eg. Power Shunt: This Ship gains Boost Action, if this ship has boosted this turn it has one less attack dice. This would allow you to have a real mix of Uglies, for that ramshackle force look, rather than choosing the one with the best stats and having 4 of them, and also stops all 6 slots being filled with different types of Ugly.

Deathseed as a separate type, as it was a mass produced fighter.

You just know FFG is going to make a YT-2400.

I am going to build a complete Pirate Fleet I think. As for an Ordance slot, I have planned to make a Heavy Deffence Satilite, which the pirates have stolen (of course) and custom fitted for their devious purposes.

My favorite Rouge is definitely the Moulin.

To get my Pirate Fleet started I am going to build a number of special models and convert/buy some Pirate appropriate ships. The first gameable centerpiece model for my Pirates will be a HUTT Asteroid Base. I will start a new topic thread for this project, to keep everything in one place.

I am planning out everything right now, and will start the actuale build(s) next month.

If any of you have a few ideas on this it would be cool to read them now...

On a related note, does that mean you don't approve of taking shots from range 3 in X-Wing? I have a hard time wrapping my head around how that might be cowardly, but then I'm not one to point that finger.
