I got the Mono edge put on my sword and tryed to get the mods attached but the person doing it rolled no success but no faliure I was wondering can I try again? or will I have to get a new edge put on to get the attacment?

Nope, because you failed the roll, so you'll have to get a new edge for your weapon if you want to try modifying it again.

If you don't roll a single success on any skill check, you still fail the check because you have no uncancelled successes, even if you didn't roll a single Failure icon. It's entirely possible to fail a roll simply because you rolled nothing but Advantage icons.

Correct.

If you don't roll at least one success icon, then you have no chance of succeeding on the roll, any roll. So while those Advantages might let you get some benefit, it won't be the one you were trying to achieve in the first place.

Now, there was some talk during the Beta period for EotE to allow a player to "cash in" a certain number of Advantage for a single success (I think the average number was 3 Advantage, but it's been a while), but that'd be a house rule.
