We are gonna be playing on a 6 x 3 table and I'd be surprised if this didn't take all bloody afternoon. The 14 Imperial ships will be split between my two friends and I'll be running the 12 Rebel ships myself. If anyone's interested I can take some pics and try to write up a battle report after the carnage has ensued.

Do you really need to ask if we'd want pics and a battle report? Of course we want to see that.

Seriously! Make this happen, post haste!

Please, pics and report would be great. Also, I think you will find the game goes faster than you anticipated. When we have done large games, they have not taken much longer than standard games. When you have so many ships, nothing survives so much as a turn of focus fire.

I need pics and a BatRep!!!!!!!

I wonder how it handles at this size, it should still work fine. I wonder if like Apocalypse numbers will wittle down really fast at the start due to the ability to combine fire easily when you have so many fighters so the actual game time isn't as bad as you would think.

Count how many times you bump into your own ships. Manuevering will take 20 mins each round alone!

I echo what others have said: WE! WANT! PICS!!! :D

You might want to get a notebook and take notes during the battle, so you can recreate it in text...also..don't forget the pics...yesterday me and a friend were discussing using a 'scribe' to report on the battle while the players play it out....that way you should be able to record most of it.

Camera battery is charged, I'll be packing up my ships soon. I'll try to keep a tally of how many pile ups are created. Hopefully I can avoid my own ships, while the other two run into each other. Should I allow them to plan together or not?

I would allow collaboration. In fact, I think there's a rule in the core book which says that not only can they do this, but if they do they are not allowed to do it in secret.

Ya know, that sounds familiar. After I finish 3 Bounty vs. Wedge, Tycho and Dutch I'll have to look that up.

I believe they can talk all they want....just not show each other their dials.

It's on page 20 SRB.

The game lasted 10 turns. It's was a bloody and brutal affair and no Bothans were spared. I'll get the report done up in the morning, full of pics.

We were both right:

"SHARING INFORMATION

Players on the same team may strategize against their opponent(s). Players are free to discuss any information with teammates (and opponents), but all discussion must take place in public (i.e., their opponent(s) must be able to hear all discussion). Also, teammates cannot show each other the maneuver chosen on their dial(s)."

My general rule is if it's 2 players against 1, then I would allow them to confer in Secret (and even show dials), as long as they are fast. The single player otherwise would have a big advantage as he know where everything is going.

If it's 2v2 then I would do it like it says in the Rules, as having an inability to communicate and things crashing into each other all other the place is cool.

The other thing you could do is allow each side to go away from the table to confer for a set time, but once they have used that time they are not allowed to confer once they get back to the table and start setting dials. That also could be quite fun. And I think could be much faster.

In otherwords even though there are set Rules in the Rule Book, with large games do what works for you.

Honestly they can do whatever they want. No FFG officials slapping them in the face every time they violate some rule XD.
