Hi all;

Scenario -

DS player has Darth Vader on the table and 1x Icetromper. LS player has Luke Skywalker and 1 Wookie Navigator.

DS player declares an attack with Darth Vader. LS player declares Luke Skywalker as defender.

DS player sacrifices Icetromper to 'remove' Darth Vader from the conflict and deal a damage to Darth Vader.

1st Question - Does the conflict continue?

Our group figured it does, as the combat has not reached it's conclusion. Therefore we end up at the point where Darth Vader never reached the point of striking, therefor he isn't 'focused'. Luke Skywalker, still being in the conflict, MUST focus to strike.

DS player now chooses to attack a different objective. The LS player has to decide, defend with Wookie Navigator, or let the attack go through, unopposed.

Does the above scenario 'work'?

If not, please explain where we are going wrong.

I'm personally hoping for some sort of "Oracle" functionality, where the card database could be updated with its most current text and collection of official rulings.

We're already doing exactly that on CGDB.

Sorry, I meant something more along the lines of a massive retemplating of all the card text to be more consistent. Now that there is an official online source for card text, that wouldn't be as much of a problem. It's not as much of a problem with Star Wars (although Trench Run could use some better language), but in the older LCGs, you have some odd text.
