Great Debate #1890 Food vs. Whiskey

By MrsGamura, in Arkham Horror Second Edition

I always wanted to have to sacrifice (i.e. return to the box) the ally for The Stars Are Right, and was always kind of disappointed when you had to return the ally to the deck.

Rememer kids: Eating your dog will make you happy!

A couple of minutes rambling:

How long in actual Arkham-time does a game go on? Maybe 1-2 weeks searching clues and exploring otherworlds...

Any normal man/woman can survive that long without food even though the person is physically active fighting monsters and such.. but without any beverage a character will day within days.. hence the whiskey is a real life-saviour here..

Maybe we need another common item: "Toilet break". From all the horrific encounters and all the whiskey and food a character is consuming that bladder will have a harder time surviving than any mind or body..

...and C.H.U.D. could be a AO.

Maybe Monster would be more appropriate. You can discard an ally to automatically pass a combat check against CHUD.

Saw that movie when I was like 7. Alone. Wasn't my first horror alone at that age.

Good thing I turned out to be this well-adjusted individual. BTW when is Innsmouth coming out? I'm wiping the drool from my mouth but it keeps coming!!!

Talking about Innsmouth, Innsmouth is insane. 16 investigators and 8 ancient ones? This is madness!

16 new investigators without any new items? Seems odd. But I trust them.

You're sure about that "no new items" part?

Sure, the game content doesn't state any new items, but it could be they just did not mention them separately... The point is, according to the text, "Over all, this expansion adds over 300 new cards to the base game", but if you add up all cards listed in the content, you end up with 272 cards. So, there might still be some space for a few new items ^^

Well, new items are usually listed on the components. Don't get me wrong—I want there to be new items. I love variety in my spells and artifacts, and even mundane gear. Yeah, I guess I shouldn't assume there won't be any new items, but I'll bear a wide smile if there are.
