thankful I bought my set during the quiet End Times prior to reprint, it appears that several of the boxes have crept back up in price, some of them significantly.
Amazon just showed the creature guide dropping another dollar. I wonder what's up or if Amazon just has a complex pricing mechanism based on blah blah blah
jh.
I'm working on a couple more projects for the creature guide:
1. I LOVE the idea of the Grab Bag adventure/ecounter ideas presented in there. In summary of it, when you're having trouble coming up with an idea for a plot, or encounter, or whatever, you draw some cards at random and then use those as inspiration. Example: location card, monster card, insanity card, creature card. What I would do instead is rather than mix up all those cards that I spent hours sorting and putting into album sheets, I think I'd "roll" for them instead
2. I'm in the process of making a henchman template akin to the Advanced Templates in Hero's Call. I think I'd put the gist of the rules on there as well.
3. For my own book, I put the statistics of the monsters from Hero's Call, Lure of Power, BFP, and Omens of War and taped them into the back. I also included the rules for the Hero's Call templates and rules from that so I don't have to look the symbols (which I would simply have preferred as abbreviations than just throwing symbolism in the middle of something like a statistic block..artsy-fartsy be damned, when I'm running a game and need statistics I don't want to be looking up symbol translation
4. For my own book, I also taped a version of the "Suggested Actions" summary sheet into the back of my book. I realized that I need to spend a moment updating it to the products listed in #3 above (should be easy to do as those were included/listed in those books.
5. I'm attaching a non-statistical list of all creatures appearing in later products to the "Master list" at the end of the book as well. I think I'll use it for rolling random ideas.
