What are you most looking forward to from Wave3?
i cant wait for more squad building options. rebel lists seem like they will get the best building blocks with the moldy crow and B-Wing. i like how these ships support/boost other ships. time will tell how many is the best to play with in a single squad. i wonder is Han Solo will see even more play now that its possible to field an entire team of 360 degree firing ships.
I am really looking forward to the Tie Bombers. I was really fond of seismic charges even tough they are really hard to play out properly. But just the tought of a 3 Bomber formation with Proton Bombs make me laugh like one of those evil overlords.
I will just have to play again and again until I finally can pull of some crazy 1 hit kill everything my enemy throws at me because all his ships get hit by 3 proton bombs at the same time.
But I will still have to be patient
Amazon here in the EU went from "shipping on August 29" to aviable within 1-3 months.
Are those of you that already have em players that bought em at gencon or ebay off gencon? Or is Wave 3 already shipping out in the US?
Yes, converted Bombers to Boarding Craft. With my skills I'd probably end up just breaking off the torpedo launcher.
Red I've see your work, awesome, can you make me two too jk.
The last models I got (on-line) was the blockade runner (Tantive IV) and rebel base for the GR-75 (check Red's blog for cool paint jobs). Now FFG has announced both models. Just my luck. Anyone want a CR-90 and GR-75? lol
They were available at GenCon, some of those people put them on eBay.

Yeah. A really big scalpel. Maybe it's more like a naginata.
I'm looking forward most to the HWK-290. Mainly because I have a serious love affair with this ship (including painting this little beauty: http://fav.me/d4k1has ), but also because I think the ability to add Focus tokens at such an incredible distance will come in handy. The turret is another reason, plus the fact that it's cheap compared to the Falcon.
Sweet, you drew that? Love that picture. Love the Crow, too
OK, Wookiepedia says the crow has a pilot, co-pilot and can carry six additional crew. But I definitely need to take Wookiepedia with a grain of salt. And, Millennium Falsehood, you depicted it as a two man ship (beautiful job with the cut-outs and the text, I might add). I'm sad to say, I haven't read anything that deals with the Moldy Crow or any other HWK-290. So, is there any sort of concensus on how many people this ship really can carry? From the size FFG built it, it does appear that it should be able to hold more than just two people, but eight seems a bit much.
I went to "The Edge of the Empire" core rulebook, in hopes of finding out how FFG forsaw the layout of the Moldy Crow. I was a little disappointed to discover that the HWK-290 was not covered in the Starships and Vehicles section, but it was interesting to see which ships made it into this chapter. I have a feeling there will be a supplementary ship and vehicle book, since the only Tie listed was the ln. There were four capital ships listed, the CR90, DP20, Maurader Class Assault Corvette and the EF76. I wonder if this might be a hint as to what we could expect to see as capital ships in the near future for X-Wing. What was really frustrating was the fact that though they didn't stat it out, there is a pretty decent picture of a HWK-290 towards the back of the book, on page 437.

I think the details on Wookieepedia were taken from the roleplaying sourcebook where the Crow was used as a setting. Since official dimensions likely didn't exist at that point, they took certain liberties. But based on the Crow's actual in-game appearance, the roleplaying game was way, way off. When it appeared as designed (that is, in the games it was designed for), it carried a crew of two and was only slightly longer than a Y-Wing. FFG got it right in this case.
What about Target lock on anyone on the board, then give it away to a fast ship.. That is a hard one!
The Moldy Crow, honestly because I've wanted a Moldy Crow model since I was but a wee child back in the days when Dark Forces was a brand spankin' new game.
But also because it looks like an awesome ship to have in one's arsenal.

Put simply, they're dead wrong. I created a computer model of the Crow's cockpit for this painting based on the cutscene where Jan airlifts him from Nar Shaddaa in JK: http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h4/Millennium_Falsehood/Paper%20Models/Cockpit.jpg http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h4/Millennium_Falsehood/Paper%20Models/Cockpittextured.jpg
From that I was able to determine that there's no way in hell this ship can hold any more than two people, with a little room next to the copilot's seat for some stowage. The rest of the ship aft of the cockpit has a T-shaped cross-section which has little room for anything other than engine systems and fuel, with some other gizmos like the repulsor projector and shield generator under the overhang on either side. Unless those six people are put in the back end in a similar stowed configuration as Trade Federation Battle Droids, they're not going to fit.
I'm not that knowledgeable in the EU but I sure am looking forward to the Shuttle and the Bomber as a close second. Unfortunately no models are available nearby were I live...

Oh god no way can it carry more than three. Yes, three, if the other is standing in the docking port, maybe four with the docking port open and the other guy on the shoulders of the already crowded poor sod.
Can you imagine that? Dude just flailing his arms because they had to squeeze four in?
No but really. It comfortably seats two unless you're clowncaring it, in which case prepare for body odor and resolvable bathroom breaks.

Well, they don't touch it thanks to that discrepancy. Up until now nobody had the cojones to deal with it. Respect to FFG.
Double respect for not using the god awful Empire at War Moldy Crow Model... Which was ALSO oversized immensely due to that discrepancy.

And just look at that thing. No class compared to the fantastic original.

yeah, hes the new howlrunner. suddenly secondary weapons all got alot deadlier.
Captain Jonus is sick. I posted a thread about it not too long ago, but it hasn't garnered much attention.
Edited by WonderWAAAGHLooking forward to the shuttle, "tell captain Cagi, to make my ship ready" the Emperor.
There is so much history and childhood memories in the Tie-bomber for me and the B-wing, well i think its enough for me to just hold the models in my hand and gently caress em all.
Thats what im looking for....just to droll.
