Bushinryu Ninpo

By Rockstar2, in UFS Rules Q & A

Just wondering how this card works exactly...

Reads :" First F Destroy this card: For the rest of this turn your opponent may not play responses to cards being played."

My first assumption is that this card doesn't prevent Rs from being played during the Enhance Step of any attack, rather it stops opponents from playing such cards as KFT and SoC to any cards i play into my card pool. My assumption is also that this card doesn't stop BRTs as BRT triggers before i would've successfully played said card into my card pool.

That said, i would like clarification on what "cards being played" constitutes. i.e. am i incorrect in my assumption that this card doesn't stop BRT's? And, is the strength of this card focused on protecting Action Cards from being negated? Or, does it indeed prevent Rs from being played during the Enhance Step?

Thank y'all in advance! gran_risa.gif

my guess is it stops any R that begins with iether:

R: After your opponent plays a card,

R: After your opponent plays an attack

R: After your opponent plays an action

R: After your opponent plays a foundation into their card pool

R: After your opponent plays an asset (into your card pool)

Things like valerias shop...um...brain is tired cant think of anymore

the trigger of 'being played' means the card has been played into the card pool successfully.

you are right, BRT is before the check, and before the play of the card. but, something like Siberian Training, which is an R to an attack being played, would be prevented by this.

Sorry to bump a post from March, but I had a question or two about Bushinryu Ninpo as well.

I understand the ruling against control hacks which respond before a control check is made. My question is more along the lines of...

Bushinryu Ninpo, followed by any of the many action side cards (Psycho Style, Mega Spike, etc.) that are cards being played that then commit/remove cards in your opponent's staging area.

Specifically, let's say I Form with Bushin, then action side Mega Spike to add a card from my staging area to my hand and to my opponent's hand, the latter from their staging....

Can they respond with The Red Lotus of the Sun to say no? Technically, the Red Lotus is responding to an 'ability' that commits/removes/etc., however the ability is the direct result of a card (Mega Spike) sucessfully being played and in this case Red Lotus would also be responding to the played action card. What would win out - Bushin+Spike or Red Lotus?

Thank you in advance.

Lotus is responding to a played ability.

In this case that played ability comes from a card played from hand, so Bushin protects it, and smacks the Redlotus and says "No soup for you!"
