New player with a couple questions

By devans2009, in 2. AGoT Rules Discussion

Hi, I just started buying this game and had some questions that I couldn't find the answers to.

1. Can you lose by "decking" yourself?

2. Can someone give me an example of what a triggered effect is, in regards to the Greyjoy card Seasick.

thanks for any answers that may come.

1. No. You do not lose when you run out of cards in your deck. You just cannot draw any more cards.

2. A "triggered effect" is anything that happens because a player chooses for it to happen. They are always preceded by a bold timing word like "Any Phase," "Response," or the name of a phase (e.g., "Challenges," "Marshaling," etc.).

Found a couple more questions if someone would be so kind as to answer them for me.

1. If I have Dagmer Cleftjaw in play, do the warships have to be standing to count for Dominance? I would think yes, but want to make sure.

2. Can my opponent use Orphan of the Greenblood to remove my military icon from my Night's Watch character if I have The Rangers Agenda in play?

Thanks in Advance

1. The warships count, regardless of whether they are standing.

2. Yes, he can. It's just a +1-1=0 game - like most lasting effects. If you used an Orphan on a character with no intrigue icon, he'd have to gain two intrigue icons that phase to count as having an intrigue icons.
