Multiple copies of his character card in play = more/less pain or does he still count as only one character card since tourney rules say no matter how many character cards you have physically in play they count as one for committing and effects? I'm just interested as to which trumps which.
*Yi Shan* and his ability.
That is why he is awesome! While you don't get the ability more than once, you get the benefit from the extra characters. If you have 4 copies of him all attached, you will be giving a +5 bonus and a -5 penalty to every attack! (That is assuming your opponent only has one character out.)
This is a case of the "Golden Rule" mentioned in the tournament rules, where the card's effects take precedence over normal rulings. While for everything else (committing, etc) you're counted as having one character card, Yi Shan sees how many you have stacked on for his effect.
Awesome-sauce. This was how I theorized the result would be and am quite pleased. Thanks for the confirmation.
will be even better when (if?) they release another yi shan. In theory you can have like 8 in your staging area
Sadly they have said that he won't have the lower difficulty like our other multiple copy character.

Actually, as Aslum pointed out a while ago, Yi Shan doesn't say "Character CARDS" in his ability, just "number of characters."
Does that mean in a normal game that Yi Shan can only give +/-2?

Oh god, are you saying that if I stack four Yi Shan*'s together, that it still only gives a +/- 2 damage?
No, I'm saying he gets around the rule that multiple characters in your staging area still only count as "one card"...
Oh, good. I was about to cry big fat man tears.
