Card holder suggestions?

By Millennium Falsehood, in X-Wing

I have been using the large bags that the cardboard token frames come in to hold my pilot cards up till now, but I would like to use something else.

Some people prefer trading card folders, but I'm not too keen on those. I organize mine by point value, so it would be rather tedious to have to keep refiling them every time I got a new ship.

Is there something I could use that would let me do this? Maybe even allow me to put headers above the cards like, "1 pt Astromechs", "3 pt Missiles", etc.?

I'm planning on putting them in an album, so you can browse through them. There's a thread I started where people have made suggestions to help with that, but I haven't done it yet.

Edit: clarification: multiple albums of course, a rebel one, an imperial one and an upgrades one. Wouldn't solve your problem of having to rearrange them when you get new cards of course!

Photo albums might allow you to put headers above cards, but they might not be the best way to store your cards.

Honestly, I would recommend trading card sheets. Ultra Pro does 9 pocket sheets and they're pretty good quality. This solution is completely scaleable and allows you to sort however you want.

I have mine in trading card sheets, and it works just fine. I have one page for each ship type, and all but the TIE fighter have slots to spare. I have multiples of everything but wave 3, so rearranging them hasn't been an issue. I keep the generics in the same pocket and just one of the named pilots to prevent anyone from taking multiples of something they aren't supposed to. I keep them in binders (one Rebel, one Imperial) along with printed out rulebooks I made up, using the text from the rulebook pdf and adding in all of the additions from the varions expansions. I've also made all the FAQ changes neccesary, and have a copy of the FAQ at the back of each book.

Works pretty well.
