Minstrel and charm animal ability

By Gonad the Ballbarian, in Talisman Rules Questions

If the Minstrel attempts to charm an animal and fails, can he choose to fight it instead, that same turn? Or must he land back on it? I assume he can choose NOT to fight it if he wishes, but want to make sure. Thanks.

If you read the Minstrel card, it says that you can charm a animal instead of attacking it. So if the charm don't work then you end your turn.

Animals and dragons will not attack you, but you may choose to attack them gui%C3%B1o.gif

That makes sense, thanks happy.gif

It says that animals and dragons will not attack you. If you choose to attack them do they get an attack roll against you?

Surely they do. They don't want to hurt the kind Minstrel, but if he's an aggressive grunt that wants to cut off their heads, they still have fangs and talons for him.

I thought so. Thank you.

Mmm,

I wonder what happens if you encounter 2 animals or 3 animals...

it looks like you can try to charm all animals or only charm one animal and fight the other two..

I have speak with Jon,

He says that you can charm all animals ( one by one)

if the charm don't work, you can choose to charm the other two or fighting them or not.

Um I have to dissagre. It doesn't say you can "evade them" it says "they will not attack you". Also a faq on Board Game Geek answers this question specifically.

Though I can't judge the validity of this FAQ

Why must it say that you can evade them.

It's the dragons and animals that choose for not attacking the Minstrel..

They like the Minstrel but if the Minstrel wants to kill them, then they will be angry...

Off course, this will only happen in the Talisman world. In a real fantasy world, they will eat his head off, unless he play a melody...and put them to sleep
