Honestly...this weeks update (especially after there was no update last week) is the weakest piece of update I saw for a long time.
There were many great ideas in this forum by a lot of people, and many high-potential bugs pointed towards that were not adressed at all.
Update 1 was a great thing, Update 2 is something rarely worth publishing in between.
If this is an indicator for further improvements...then indeed may the Emperor protect us all...
Sorry for my honest and quite direct oppinion, but I think a direct feedback is worth more than just saying what wants to be heard.
Also I think it would be really helpfull to use closer contact to the guys here (and post more often from FFG side), as what these guys on here are doing in their free time for the hobby they love is massive (and they do not get paid for it in any way).
So, enough critical Commissar-speach for today.
One good thing to mention:
Good to have the Storm trait back :-)
Edited by GauntZeroGood to have the Storm trait back :-)
Except now Dire Avengers have it now as well.
180m , RoF 3, 1d10+6, Storm, Spray, and BS 66 behind it is simply too much. I know the beta updates aren't asking us to examine NPCs yet, but this is pretty glaringly OP.
2 of these guys are classed as a standard encounter for a rank 1, 4 man party.
Did I mention they have Barrage and Snap Fire as well?

Yes...they are as OP as they ever were....needs to be adressed.
Cosmetic changes comparing to ideas flying on the forum. The only explanation is there was GenCon in between the updates. Having said that, I hope the next update will address the problems pointed by beta testers i.e. insignificance of roles, starting equipment, some of the talents being useless or overpowered, bolt weapons, wound system for bigger npcs etc etc.
I would also like to add my voice to GauntZero's advice for closer contact with people from the forum.
I've heard some people mention that there's some sh*tty legal reasons as to why they can't directly correspond on the forums. Some GW imposed embargo on announcements, or something. I have no idea if that claim is actually true, but I wouldn't be surprised.

While I don't have an exact post to relay this, I can pretty much swear that it has been a stated position by FFG to have minimal direct communication with us on the forums.
That is to say, rules questions will not be answered by FFG staff of these forums, and other such things.
If you want a response from them, use the Rules Questions link at the bottom of the page.

The other "only" explanation is that even if they took note of a number of concerns, fixing it (if it's even something they find needs fixing) may take a bit more than five minutes. Making changes to a rules system has consequences, it's not something you can (read: should) do on a whim.
At a minimum, any concerns discussed on the forums would also require some internal discussions and, hopefully, playtesting before they can be addressed. And other concerns are clearly non-trivial to even find a good solution to (like the psyker issue and how to best fit that into the background/role structure).
Hopefully, the concerns raised around here will be addressed in due time (or, at the very least, be explained why, if it's decided not to address them), but expecting every potential adjustment to be done within a week is a bit unrealistic.

There was more than 5 mins between the updates. I agree with the fact that some of the changes are massive in terms of scope and impact and need a lot more work. Having said that, not addressing any and just going with cosmetic changes clearly points there was not too much time spent on the Update#2. I pointed out the most obvious culprit. I don't doubt the fact that FFG works hard on DH2 and I hope there are more beefy updates coming.
One nice change is bloodlust no longer had you gaining 20-30 corruption per combat encounter. That at least is fixed. However, people on fire still more or less inevitably explode if they are not put out. This really should be a common sense change guys...
Honestly only about two of the results are difficult to explain as a result of the body gradually burning away. The rest work pretty fine with a little GM explanation. And it's such a minor case that I think putting things down to GM explanation and fiat is alright, in this situation.
