I am sure there has been a post about this already, but it seems like Wave 1 is gone. Every site either has no stock, or they are charging upwards to $40 for them.

This is making me thing that they are stopping the first wave which sucks a lot. I just got into the game, and the inability to buy any wave 1 ships is really deterring me from playing/wanting to continue to play.

Any body know anything?

FFG's upcoming section has them at the factory.

They're not going to discontinue the Wave 1 stuff, mostly because as you see there's still a fairly large demand for it. They just can't produce enough product to keep up, so you see online or even LGS without much if anything in stock.

They're making more Wave 1 and Wave 2 stuff right now so at some point you should see the prices come back down as people once more get stuff in stock.

If this was a CMG I would say yes, but they have already restocked. FFG is just notorious for not keeping up with demand as proven when they carried Wings of War.

I just feel like they have been out of stock all summer. Tis Lame.

I mean I didn't think they would discontinue, but I have been in a situation like this before where I was late to the party and could never really get into it because they discontinued the first wave of stuff and of course it was the best.

They are never going to discontinue wave 1 unless they either discontinue the entire line, or do revamped versions. wave one is the four ships that everyone knows. Ok maybe not the Y-wing but any fan no matter how casual knows the X-wing (which they named the entire game after!), the tie fighter, and Vader's advanced Tie. The way FFG restocks is in batches, they make a bunch of ships, put them on a boat, and then ship them out. It probably isn't feasable for them to churn them out at a steady rate so we have to deal with a "feast and famine" scenario with buying our ships.

Wave 3 and the announcement of capital scale ships probably won't help with finding the older waves either.

FFG has plenty of Wave 1 (Core Sets and Expansions) in stock at their own Event Center. It's simply a popular game.

Wave 1 lists just took 1st and 2nd in the 80+ player tournament at GenCon. I don't think they are planning on cutting off the starter set way into the game any time soon. That would be plain foolish.

BTW, for anyone in the U.S. have you been checking your local Target stores? I have seen the core sets for as low as $19.99

I find myself in the same "late to the party" boat as you. I found the core set at a local Target on clearance for $12, loved the game, found all wave 2 but no wave 1 ships (wave 3 on the way from a friend who was at GenCon).

So until it's back in stock at retail or better, I'm making my own wave 1 ships, stands, etc. I'm sure there a bunch of threads around here pointing to all the resources to do such a thing but let me know if you need any help.
