Using a 40% coupon my wife had to a craft store recently, I purchased a box intended to store craft supplies to use for my fleet.

Since the only color they had in stock was pink, I decided to make it a custom job and refinish the box with Star Wars comic book pages and some printed Star Wars images. Got them all on and sealed them with a coating of ModPodge. The finished product is a collage of Star Wars imagery instead of a large pink box, and I'm really happy with how it turned out.

Here is what I started out with:

Started with a base covering of old Star Wars comic book pages (got a ton of them cheap and a library sale):

Then finished up with some printed out images that were more relevant to the game:

One is customizable. That's where I keep the small ships. One has three long "trays" where I keep my templates and range rulers. The third is big and open. That's where I keep my bigger ships. I also keep a smaller box up top (fixed) to keep all the tokens and dice.

Agreed, that did turn out to look very cool. Much more so then I would of expected. Good job on it.

I think almost everyone stores their miniatures in a storage unit ment for something else. I have mine in a Plano tackle box that I bought at Wal-Mart. When I was checking out, the lady asked "So you going fishing, huh?" To which I replied "Yeah....fishing..."

Had a very similar experience when buying this thing. The lady at checkout asked what I was going to keep in in and I told her "a game". I'm sure she was wondering what type of "game" needed such serious storage. Little did she know...

On a positive note I opened my wave 3 ships last night, and I was able to verify that with what I plan to get from Wave 3 my current storage system will last until Wave 4.

Then I might need to expand further.

Very nice! When I bought my Plano case from Gander Mountain, the sales lady said I did not look like the fishing type. Looked at me really funny when I replied, Nope, hate fishing, love Star Wars, and walked out with my case. Should have room for wave 3 and 4, depending on how many medium ships they add...
