Zangief and ChunLi

By KamHo, in UFS Deck Building

Hi, I'm looking to start a deck with either of these aforementioned characters.

The problem is, I'm a total newbie and I don't know what they do.

What kind of playstyle does each character have? Thanks in advance

A good place to start looking at the cards is here: www.twoheadeddragon.com Be sure to look under the Useful Resources tab to find the UFS Card Search engine.

Also, what kind of build are you wanting to run? Control? Aggro? Tempo?

Keep in mind there are 5 different versions of 'Gief (4. and 5. are the only legal versions come April, however), and there are 9 (yes, 9!!!) different versions of Chunners - although, again, only 2 versions are tournament legal starting April (6. and 9.).

I would honestly look to build 9.Chunners off Air. She's ridiculous; a veritable rush Aggro style of play that is somewhat straight forward and easier to learn than Control...

My 2 cents worth anyway...

hey thanks man, I really appreciate the answer. I bought a dhalsim starter and it's pretty difficult to play with, but yea, ty for your input.

One of the takis has an ability that lets her gain vitality whenever she plays a wind attack I believe. does she ever have to commit to do this?

play chun li 9. she is 2 thumbs up.

hey guys, what are some good cards i should be looking for as a new chun-li player? any tips are appreciated, thanks!

Build Chunners off Air and utilize her finisher: Hoyouku Sen, or Feline Spike. Warning: Both cards are extremely hard to pull and/or trade for.

However, Air also has some really nice foundations that support momentum gen and Control. Air is hawt sauce right now.

A friend of mine build a Zangief deck when he just started to play this game. Basicly it was a regular earth deck that reduced damage and throws all over the place.

As a finisher he splashed in Ryu's shin shoryuken which is a real killer in his deck :o

He is running the non promo Zangief from Domination set.

Zangief FTW :P

There's a number of different things you could do with Chun Li-9. Quick note: She's from the most recent Street Fighter set, Warrior's Dream; the only Dhalsim starter on the market right now is from the very first Street Fighter set that was released around 3 years ago. If you're playing against people who have new cards, well, good luck :P

One of the probably easier ones would be to use things like Natural Leader, White Magic, Aim High, etc etc etc along with a few throws or fast attacks (one of her uncommons, Yoko Sen Kyaku, is great for that; T Hawk's Crouching Roundhouse would be good too) to build momentum and then play a multiple attack like Melancholic Mercurius or one of the URs RockStar mentioned during your opponent's turn.
