Fringe being the term from Wizards of the Coast Star Wars miniatures for those unaligned with the major factions.

Would anyone else here like to see unaligned elements in the game? I know, it's called X-Wing and a huge part of Star Wars canon is the Galactic Civil War, which is cool, no doubt. But some of my favorite elements of Star Wars are the scum and villainy, bounty hunters, pirates, mercenaries, they have ships too, and being able to have a pirate fleet working under Prince Xizor of Black Sun, or a collection of Bounty Hunters after Han Solo, or even a mercenary soldier or two working for the highest bidder would be cool.

I feel like FFG missed that possibility with the Slave 1, it's not like bounty hunters only work for the Empire. I get that there's a good-evil dichotomy to maintain, but I think there's a lot of options out there for neutral elements that can be a fleet of their own or hired by either the Empire or Rebellion, not just one of them.

Potential Ships:

Slave 1/ Firespray (already out, maybe a reprint with retconned cards?)

Mist Hunter/ G-1A Starfighter

Hound's Tooth/ YV-666 Freighter

IG-2000

Virago/ StarViper-Class Attack Platform

Cloakshape Fighter

i actually started my own thread on this a few days ago, and there were more people who wanted it then not.

those who didnt want it seemed to be tournament players, i call them meta gamers.

people who want to make a competition out of everything. this is a game, its meant to be fun first and if you dont get that then you need therapy.

these same people said no large ships, it would disturb balance. well we now have big ships on the way.

FFG is doing it right, they are giving the fans what they want and the people who play for sport are going to have to deal with the fans and what we would love to see this game become.

this is what i beleive, the minds behind this game are star wars fans and gamers. they have thier fingers on the pulse of the players and most of them players want things like big ships and a third faction. so in my heart i feel that some day it will happen, just dont know when.

Heck yes, both of those for sure! And eventually when we start getting into prequel trilogy era and post-endor era, i'd really like to see Clone Wars-era ships as well.

Yeah, I Posted on the X-wing Miniature facebook page When I learned about the Lambda Shuttle. " I finally get to field an "Imperial" Medium based ship.

I never consider Boba, or any of the BH pilots, that I field to be affiliated with the Empire as Imperial. More like, guns for hire.
