Slave-1 Metalic or Ceramic plating

By Rodent Mastermind, in X-Wing

I've been looking at pictures of Slave-1 for hours, as I've been repainting mine, but I can't decide whether where it's chipped it chips to a metal (probably an alluminium as it's very pale) or to a pale beige ceramic. anyone have any decent reference pictures or know for certain?

I dont have any refrences but i would think, much like WWII fighters, the chipped paint would expose the metal under the paint.

I suppose you could go either way, but I don't remember any references to ceramics being used in hulls. Just metal.

In the later EU books, Mandalorians have access to a very specific metal that they make weapons, armor and ships from.

Beskargam (sp?)

It's not a Mandalorian ship though

I've mostly gone with non metallics to match the rest of the models. Got one YT1300 I'm working on where its metallic underneath though.

I went in the end for ceramic for the front plating, metalic for the engine and back plate

@dojimaster.

Yep, that's the stuff
