Fett and the Navigator

By Lizrrdbreath, in X-Wing Rules Questions

Ok so how does this interaction play out?

Fett reads: "When you reveal a bank maneuver (Left Bank or Right Bank) , you may rotate your dial to the other bank maneuver of the same speed."

Navigator reads: "When you reveal a maneuver, you may rotate your dial to another maneuver with the same bearing.

You cannot rotate to a red maneuver if you have a stress tokens."

So can you first change the direction of your bank then change the dial to any manoeuvre in that same direction?

(Also as a point of clarification has it been established wether bearing means left/right/forward? or does it mean turn left/bank left/forward/bank right/turn right?)

A Bank turns you 45 degrees to one side, a turn 90 degrees.

Bearing means direction, so you would be able to change any forward to any other forward, any bank into any other bank on that same side, or any turn into any other turn on that same side.

And there is no reason why the two effects should interact at all. Pick one, resolve it, then resolve the other. So yes, pick a direction and pick a speed, as long as the original maneuver is a bank. If it is a turn or a forward, only Navigator works and he won't be able to give you a bank, so Fetts ability won't go off.

So it seems you could have some fun with the combo- give Fett a bank manoeuvre one way or the other, CHOOSE to use his ability first to pick a side, THEN adjust the speed of the bank via the Navigator. You could technically do them in the other order, but it seems simpler this way

The Firespray seems to have all the banks in white or green, so it's not a bad choice especially in light off Fett's high pilot skill. Just pick where you want to go, and as long as your banking you can maximise your positioning.

I think this combo with the auto blasters from the B-wing will make Fett an amazing ship. You can pretty much make ure you get a ship in range band 1.
