Big ships are not Wave 4

That's great. I would like to know if the campaign mode (very exciting, and more interesting than the capital ships to me) is linked to the giant ships, or if it can be played at home with the standard equipment.

That was pretty much everything I wanted to hear

I very excited about what he said about campigns, that we could play them as individual missions.

That's something we've (me, me) been asking for.

And with the Capital Ships, very cool FFG is listening.

I have to wonder how much FFG is really listening though.

Depending on their playtest cycle (which I would guess is decently long based on how well the game is balanced) they are likely play testing most things up to a year or maybe even 2 before it would go to the printer. I would expect these big ships and a campaign book have been in development for at least a year at this point and would probably have been planned since the original envisioning of the game.

Certainly they may have pushed development ahead and brought these to us sooner because demand was very well voiced, but in my opinion the life span of the game hasn't been quite long enough for these ships and rule sets to have not already been in some production stage or at least planned when the game was originally released.

I'm sure FFG is listening. But you're right, they've probably already had some of this stuff in motion for a while. But how long have players been talking about capital ships for these games? Long before those capable starting modding things for the game. And the Death Star trench runs have been around for quite some time. And the really large capital ships as playing surfaces for the fighter game. I wouldn't be surprised to see some form of these things eventually released. Especially now with the "cinematic" or campaign style game gaining support. And I would credit sources like this forum for showing the demand for such products. We're lucky, the game has really taken off, so FFG will probably explore a lot of lucrative avenues.

These message boards are being monitored more than the government monitors my phone calls!

Oh yeah I'm sure they are listening really closely. I just personally would expect that everything we have seen so far was superb planning on there part and likely started to be happen before the game was even released. I imagine most of what they hear is what they already expected to hear.

Either way I am happy and I say keep it up.

I'm sure they've already had many of the discussions we're having now when something new is revealed to us. But I do hope that the chatter on these boards provides some insight that they may have missed or may guide them into some of the better decisions (at least for the consumer) that they make. Who, knows? I'm just going to continue on making suggestions, just in case in a rare instance it actually might make a difference.

it shows that they are a good company and already know the people well enough to know we would want big ships. but really who wouldnt want bigger ships?

Well, maybe it's a matter of how much we want them...

When people are scratch building them, that says volumes about how much we might pay for them.
