Descent: Lieutenant Packs

Status Update

Now, it's in the factory

Yes, looks like they will be avalaible soon, maybe for october, maybe Essen

I'm so happy

Am I the only one ?

(but please don't **** me)

I'm excited about LT figures, but it will come to my country no sooner than a couple of monthes after release, so I'm quitely waiting.

Why ? Where are you ?

I'm in France, and I have it one-two weeks after the release

Estonia, and we get almost everything from Sweden or Finland, so for me perhaps it will be easier to order them at amazon.

I live in Switzerland, but I wait for the French (Edge) translations - most of my gaming friends are not fluent in English - so if the lieutenants are available before 2015, I will be happy.

As usual, on the French (Edge) forum, many posters are spreading negativity about the project.

At least, over here, the majority see the expansions, etc. as good news.

I was hoping we would have at least some of them by our next campaign, but at the rate we are storming through Ariad's home, we will most likely be in our get campaign a good ways before I can use the plot cards. ^.^;; oh well.

I see the figures as mostly good news for the game, but I also see what could be issues. What many OLs see as a blessing might be a curse, but that's just me. It will really depend on how the game plays out.

Besides... figures!!

I'm looking forward to all of them too. But I really can't wait for Valyndra and Bol'gareth (if that's how you spell it). Seeing a new Dragon with shadow dragons will be cool. Or just summoning them in a quest will be satisfying. Who doesn't want to summon a dragon or a troll?

Even if its a good or bad thing to do atleast you have the option of doing so.

I agree: future will tell.

That is why I understand when people complain after having tried something, much more than when they whine beforehand.

I would say that, for some posters on the French forum, it is more a conditioned (cultural?) reflex of always shooting an arrow against Edge and FFG, than expressing a well-thought negative criticism.

In other hand, EDGE used us, french people, to have late, unexplicated, bugs, and they always says they are not at fault.

And whining against FFG is just because they are jalous and unable to read english and to read so.

frustrated maybe

Status update : in the boat !

can't wait !

I rather tend to consider that whining is a French cultural trait (which can have agreable exceptions).

I hardly see any topic on the French forum where people don't moan, whine and attack edge - including "in advance" attacks about their translations, delays, etc.

*rant mode on* If I were edge, I would stop business and let those perpetualy unsatisfied spoiled kids cry for real because there will be no more French versions of FFG's games. *rant mode off*

they would be, but by another one (If only it could be Asmodee)

On topic again: I am not sure that I will rush upon all those lieutenant minis.

I am hesitating about adding mechanics to the game (each one makes it more complex and less accessible for new gamers)...

Edited by Robin

I'm not, and since only the overlord will have real new mechanics, i don't see the problem.

The more possibilities there is, the better is the game.

I don't usually play with new gamers, and if there is, they will have to play the game as I propose.

To each one his own.

I hope that D2 will not become as cumbersome as D1.

At least we have the choice to add additional mechanics or not.

Looks like we will have all lieutenant more faster than I suspected

Bol'goreth has been annouced (just now i'm writing this)

and Ariad too is on the factory !

Really happy !

Can't wait, as usual

and more

now, Ariad, Queen Ariad, Raythen and Serena

The big GOOD news is for Raythen and Serana : two figures for 14$ and a hero sheet for each ! So happy and surprised

the BAD news : Ariad and Queen ariad are in two separated box, so goodbye the transformation from one to another during a campaign. Really sad :(

*OMG* I am so excited for these! Ariad is my favorite lieutenant, so I'm stoked to use her (and her Queen Ariad form). I'm okay with them being two separate agents.

Raythen and Serena as heroes blows me away. I love it so much.

Wowzers. They aren't wasting any time on those LT packs.

I would've been happy with just one figure each for Serena and Raythen, but two ain't bad either.

The ally and the LT both have different art, so I am guessing that is why they are doing it that way. I have played Raythen in the final as my LT. He's good. I like him allot.

You know the only ones I really want is Valyndra, and that troll. To me side quests deserve there center pieces. Ill probably get Ariad too.

I've already pre-ordered as many of these as I can from my local game store (along with Trollfens ). Honestly, I think my favorite part is making the allies from Labyrinth of Ruin playable. If FFG does a Lieutenant/Hero version of each character from here on out, it'll really expand on the options available to both sides.

Whoever it was in production/design that came up with this idea needs a gold star and a cookie (at the least).

Could not agree more with that comment JSM I said a while ago that to sell this game FFG needed to sell it to the Overlord as they are in my experience normally the one who buys the games and these packs are really doing that with a tiny bit of sweetness for the players they must have been listening to me..........

My consultancy fee is pretty cheap FFG.......
