Descent: Lieutenant Packs

By Ringskipper, in Descent: Journeys in the Dark

Will lieutenants acting as agents get to use relics I wonder?

Each of the lieutenants, besides Zachareth (as he's the Shadow Rune's main adversary) can be used in any campaign. Judging from Splig's summon card, all the agents can be selected, but the summon card can't be used on quests in which they appear as lieutenants. So, if I wanted to use Lady Eliza, I couldn't use the agent ability in "The Masquerade Ball" because she already appears as a lieutenant.

I hope they could, but there is no hint

Sure it would be

so

no zac, belthir, splig, and the farrow in the core set

no Valyndra in lair of the wyrm's quests

no Ariad in labyrinth of ruin,

etc etc

the question is : what will it be for the allies ?

I imagine Serena and Raythen will be made, since they're integral characters. It'd be cool if they came with two figures, one of the evil version and one of the good version. But I feel like they'll just do the evil version, seeing as they are agents of the Overlord. It'd be cool to use them (Serena in particular, not a huge Raythen fan) in different campaigns.

I hope we see a Queen Ariad pack, though it'd be somewhat odd to see her pop up in other campaigns without the backstory behind her. Maybe an Ariad/Queen Ariad set... I'm interested to see how FFG will go about it.

my next question is if each pack comes with its own threat tokens what do you do with all the extra ones from buying 6 LT packs

It's a shame I don't like Sarena. She seems very forced on the heroes to like her. Like some madly in love fool. Raythen feels more real to me. Reading though his thing... he makes me laugh.

Ariad pack will be pretty epic, I feel.

We have a thing we keep all our tokens in. We keep all the extras due to the nature of losing small objects. We also thought we would have too many hearts. After having everything, I wish we had more single hearts (not the fives) due to me always needing more on those quests where I have allot of monsters.

I would hold onto the extras. You never know when you might need more due to the quest or by a cat deciding they are fun to play with.

It's better to have more than less.

It's maybe the most problem in the base game : not enough dices.

For the allies, I think they will come in only one figure, that would be usable for both (ally or lieutenant) and maybe card to add it as an ally for all campaign, and plot card as usual. But I'm not sure

I don't understand why the 6 lieutenant are not sold as one box rather than multi small ones ?

I'm glad they're in separate packages... much lighter on my wallet.

Plus, you don't need all of them. I mean, essentially you do... for all the figures. But really, the expansion is more "choose your favorite lieutenant and use him or her in campaigns as your own hero equivalent."

Will lieutenants acting as agents get to use relics I wonder?

My guess is no because I think the rules state you have to declare which Lt is using which relic before the quest starts. So you would not have the Lt you swap out two monsters for once the quest is underway at the start of the quest to do so.

Yes, but I want them all, want the figures to replace the tokens, want all the plot decks, and try all of them, i want to have choice

If it were only miniature, I would have pick one or two, but with plot decks, I need them ALL

I am hoping that they will have them out by the time we go through LoR for the second time. I will get Splig and Marrick and most likely Zackerith. I will have the figures for the LT in the campaign along with the one I really want to use.

Maybe that is why they are spending a little more time on the SR LT in LoR? Which might mean in the next full expansion

will have Eliza and Alric and/or Balthir? Ohhh... FFG you're good...

Yes, they are !

so much that I can't wait so much that I would be able to stole them, or buy each twice the real price to have all of them NOW

I'm crazy stupid and fond of this stuff

Okay what if the Lt you have been building on to special summon throughout the campaign suddenly is in a quest and under the heroes control? For example Belthir in some of the later quests is controlled by heroes.

My guess would be that you aren't allowed to summon an agent who already appears in the quest as a regular LT.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: I'm reasonably certain the Farrows, at least, will be recurring throughout the lifespan of Descent. The other LTs it remains to be seen.

If you only have one agent and no other LT before the quest starts, it seems pretty reasonable you could still declare which LT has the relic.

I looked carrefully and it look likes agent don't have caracteristic for testing attribute.

So, they are more like "normal monster" even "super ones" than lieutenant, and it looks like they will not be able to bear relics.

Maybe i'm wrong, but it appears me like that

Great. These are the stuff boost the overlord needs. So...When are they arriving? I need to buy them all.

All the listing says is 4th quarter, 2013. So, anytime between October and December.

So long !

Maybe I should do as Han solo, and wake up in few years, when all descent stuff would be finished ! :D

well it said 3rd quarter for the X-Wing Starfield tile kits, but i don't see them yet either. MUST THEY TEASE US WITH AWESOME THINGS THEN GIVE US VAGUE DATES. Can't i just pre-order them now? Then i can relax. Plus im so dumb i'll forget about them until they arrive then i'll be excited about my new toys. Yay. Toys.

I think too they should tease a little less, and have better dates.

I'm the first one to be crazy about this, but i'm almost sure that the GenCon pushed them, and trouble their plans.

But Q3 seems to be a bit presomptuous

I got my Elizxa and Merick in metal for sale if anyone is interested. Europe

looks like it won't be for christmas :(

They very well could be out for Xmas. Fourth quarter means anytime from October 1st thru December 31st.
