Descent: Lieutenant Packs

By Ringskipper, in Descent: Journeys in the Dark

Awesome they went plastic! And I love what they did with these guys. Extra fun good idea FFG!

Yes yes yes plastic is the way to go. Metal just aren't as nice

What's the best guess on cost for each? Cause yeah... Pretty sure I'll need to get them all... hoping my wallet isn't too pissed at me for it. ;) (My hope is $15 each!)

Someone on BGG said they'll be available for $9-15. :)

The Plot system seems very interesting too.

Will gamers who find the OL's role boring perhaps consider that as an improvement?

I am excited to see how the summoning of the lieutenant into quests actually works. It might be risky to trade a minion and a master monster for one lieutenant, if we are talking about heavy hitting big monsters.

Even not heavy hitting monsters. You are talking about tools that help slow things down. You are also talking about forfeiting EXP for things you might not be able to use every quest. I will have to read these things very closely when it comes out.

Don't get me wrong, I am super excited! LT get figures!! If for nothing else, I will be buying the figures for the figures. Maybe some epics playing with these new plot cards.

FFG really listened to us on these things!

Figures alone will be enough for me to buy these, i was a bit sad when i saw the boss characters only have little tokens...now im excited!

The Figures look great and I will be buying them all when they come out. The plot system looks like it should be fun to play around with.

very doable! This is super exciting!

Awesome !

Descent gane is the better one !

I'm so fond of it, nothing else exists anymore

Indeed, my mind is blown right now. Individual plastic figs (including plastic figs for the Farrows, who were already out in metal), and a price point of $9-15 each?!

I don't claim to be an expert on the proces of manufacturing miniatures, but this run contrary to everything I've heard on the subject. I literally do not know how they did it, but I'm amazed that they did. FFG has proven yet again that they are not to be under-estimated.

Of course, I'll be snapping these up as quickly as my poor wallet allows.

I've been using reaper figures that look pretty close as proxies, so I am not sure i really need the figures for the sake of having them, but I am super interested in seeing how the plot cards work.

Using proxies is difficult for me. I don't really like this, the "close" is not enough.

and now that the plot have been added, i'm all fire all flames !

FFG is meeting two needs, which I think is VERY smart on their part. You want figures, we have that! You don't want the figures, but you want to expand the game, we have that too! Guess what, it's cheap. Please give us your money.

All of us: *hands over paycheck*

And just think about Valyndra and [clarion of trumpets] QUEEN ARIAD!

Oh.

My.

God.

I really wish I could stop drooling.

the new card deck looks like the avatar system from Road to legends to me

I must say, I'm quite surprised they decided to go with plastic. Having said that, I like the way they are doing this, these are at s much better price point , and they seem to add some extra play value as well with the cards and such. Definitely going to get these.

HOORAY!

That's... really all I have to say about this. I'm just so excited. Descent is probably my favorite game, and having lieutenant models has been a dream of mine pretty much since I started playing (admittedly, not TOO long ago). But I digress...

HOORAY!

My group and I are super stoked for these too, they were complaining about the tokens and thought they looked kind of lame. They really moaned about the fact that they lost them on the map because they looked for a mini not the token itself. Screwed up their plans on more than one occasion.

Okay what if the Lt you have been building on to special summon throughout the campaign suddenly is in a quest and under the heroes control? For example Belthir in some of the later quests is controlled by heroes.

Good question, but I am wondering if there will be rules for that. Zackerith can't be played in SR at all, which takes that conflict out. I am guessing you won't be able to summon the agent if the real deal is on the field. Like the legendary rule in Magic.

Sure it would be

so

no zac, belthir, splig, and the farrow in the core set

no Valyndra in lair of the wyrm's quests

no Ariad in labyrinth of ruin,

etc etc

the question is : what will it be for the allies ?
