Sweeeeeeeeet!!!! I know what I want for Christmas now.
Look very awesome, i love the tone of just the box cover itself. Very ominous looking depiction of what appears to be Saruman and Wormtongue. Very curious to see where this takes place in the lotr timeline and if the treason of isengard has come to fruition. Really hoping and thinking Eomer will be a lock for one of the two heroes.
also, may i wager...Ents???
Too much goodness going on over at Gencon...
So awesome!
"Rohan, my lord, is ready to fall!" ~ Saruman
Changing my thinking of the previous post cause i def think Saruman will be the nemesis of this box/expansion. Rohan vs Isengard. i love it
amazing. so much great news for this game at once. nice to see the designers referencin saruman's ring making
Yes, this will be epic, and I seriously can't wait to see what new heroes this comes with. I figured Eomer would come out with the third or fourth LotR Saga box, but now I'm really hoping he gets his debut here. Maybe Gamling will be a hero as well? Maybe... Helm Hammerhand! (just kidding, but how cool would that be?!)
I'm not sure if we'll see Ents or not just yet because they did not help the Rohirrim until the events of the Two Towers. If this is anything like "Heirs of Numenor," then it will provide quests that tie into events directly before the LotR timeline begins. Events such as Orcs bearing the white hand being seen in the Westfold, and villages being plundered and burned by wildmen of Dunland. The possibilities are wide-open.
Yeah, Ents hopefully, almost surely.
Oh my god, I feel light-headed! THIS is the cycle I want - AND I WANT IT NOW!
Ahem...
I feel they couldn't create eight quests without meddling with the Ent idea at least a little. And maybe the stuff from the Lord of the Rings will happen here rather than in the saga, since the Ring doesn't come into Rohan.
yes we shall surely see ents. firstly how can we not have rohan cycle and not start at or go through fangorn forest.
they could sort of be half way allies, with unique abilities that represent their hesitance to do anything to actively stop saruman
that of course poses some lore problems as has been said, but im sure the narrative can go round it
i would love to see grima as an ally of sorts. one that has a chance of weakening your play rather than helping

Maybe he'll be more like an objective ally, like Arwen in Dwerrowdwelf cycle, only like you said he won't help you, more put obsticles in you way. That would be a nice touch
so who is thinking tactics eowyn?
Rohan... Eomund...
Remember that we'll probably see Ents in the third Saga expansion though, so maybe not in this cycle? In some ways they stole their own thunder with Conflict at the Carrock coming out before Roast Mutton etc. So we'll see.
[Gollum]Oh Yes! We will see...[/Gollum]
so who is thinking tactics eowyn?
That would be awesome. But won't she fit better into the battle of Minas Tirith?

probably, but i forsee either re using heroes or a lot more of ffg-created heroes in this cycle. either way i dont really mind, but i do think we will see eowyn in some form and probably hama (perhaps as allies...in fact this makes more sense given the denethor/ faramir switch)
what i do hope to see is some sort of 'cavalry charge' mechanic that i thought of the other year (when we were talking about a possible rohan cycle- anyone remember?)
Edited by richsabreIf this is a dream , I do not want to wake up ...

Well, who am I to question you guesse? I believe you have been right in pretty much most of your guesses about heroes ![]()

i was quite terrible in the current cycle on my guesses, though my moment of glory was not only predicting elrond but his exact abilities.
so yes, my official prediction is eowyn and hama allies, not heroes. also new uses of cavalry and mount cards, and finally ents
Edited by richsabreI'll risk a prediction ... Saruman will appear as an objective ally but eventually will turn to a traitor
good idea. so initially we go on say the first few quests to aid him, and then it becomes apparent? again some problems fitting that with the lotr timeline...i wonder how it will function?
maybe there will be problems with the lotr timeline indeed, but thats how it happened with him, only Gandalf was suspecting him many years before the Hobbits left the shire (especially after he did not wat to attack Dol Guldur when Sauron was there)
