More to my point, regional requests are going to have limited draw. So the post will soon fall off the page which condemns it to an even more obscure death. Someone who comes along -say- a month later, who may benefit from it, will never see it because its deep and gone.

A dedicated subforum would serve 2 purposes. First, it keeps them in one place where they can be more easily scanned for relevence by someone who is actually looking. And second, it gets them out of the general discussion area where they just take up space until they drown.
