Store Stock

By rdobyns, in X-Wing

After watching the Gencon video it finaly answers the question of why store near me can't seem to get the models, FFG held them for them selfs. I know I will catch flack for this comment but its apperances. Still looking forward to series 3!

I know someone that I play the game with that went to GenCon.. If was thinking.. I would have flooded him with coin to have him bring me back some prizes and suprises. Lol,

Agreed, I keep looking at eBay and I am so tempted. I keep wondering that if they are selling the new stuff there, when are they going to release it for the people that can't make it to Gencon?

They said that Wave 3 should be in stores in 3-5 weeks.

They aren't "holding things back for themselves". They have a certain amount specially shipped over in time for GenCon (most likely air-mailed). They do it so people at GenCon can get a good look and buy some. The rest of the product comes by boat.

GenCon is the biggest general gaming convention in the US, they can't show up with nothing new. It's the San Diego Comic Con for gaming...new product releases are the expectation. It's not their fault that everyone can't attend.

Thanks Jim, but in my origanal post I am talking about the old stuff. Stores around me are unable to get the wave one and two models that are already released. I am glad that the people that can go to the con are able to buy product but the lack of it in the stores really makes it hard to get and keep new players. Lack of product also has people waiting to get into Star Trek Attack Wing instead of waiting for FFG to release models.

I've heard from a few places that the Wave 2 restock is happening the same time as Wave 3.. Probably coming in the same ship.

Which is not on it's way yet. That leads me to believe that even the "5" in the "3-5 weeks" is quite optimistic and for me not realisitc.

Just as a head's up check out Barnes and Noble they had wave 1 and 2, I even found some Tie Interceptors there last week.

Sorry, I probably should've been more clear. I think, since Wave 1 is currently reprinting now but not yet on the boat, that FFG probably had to have a large chunk of their X-Wing stock (all waves) airmailed to them just have stock for GenCon. I don't think they were sitting on a bunch and took it took to GenCon. Could be wrong, but it would fit since they haven't had Wave 1 available in the online store recently at all.

Plenty of Wave 1 and 2 around here. A few ships are getting a bit thin again, but most things are in stock at most places.

I am waiting for over a month for my A-wing and Interceptor... :-( I've ordered them together with some Infinity models and they were not in store then the retailer made the mistake of mailing my Interceptor and A-wing to another customer and now I have to wait for the restock which he said FFG assured him was somewhere in July...
