Concise Wound Tables

By MagnusPihl, in Dark Heresy Second Edition Beta

I've mentioned a couple of times that I'm not a big fan of the descriptive Wound Tables. I think they restrict the story-telling aspect of combat.

They also take up a lot of space, and they're confusing to read. So, I intend to make some concise wound tables that get straight to the point and let you make up the story of how it happened.

Bad news: This is going to be a work in progress for a while, as I'm having difficulty finding the time.

Good news: I might as well share as I go.

Here's my document: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1upQCRBWLyARVCMwhjOcpHYYEZ1UvnHgdmK4AiQSXhBQ/edit?usp=sharing

There's some shorthand language in there. I'm happy to hear corrections (the document allows comments), but keep in mind that I'm intentionally trying to keep things very short.

Right now I'm thinking of setting up something with icons, both to lessen the amount of text, and because I found this awesome icon pack: http://game-icons.net/

Comments and suggestions appreciated! If someone with more free time (or talent) than me wants to give this a go, don't let me stop you!

Hey. Nice work. It's useful to have these. You could make a pretty good auto-wound selector in Excel using this. Each column would have an alternative description that matched the mechanical effect and it would just randomly pick across the columns for a given score - keep things from going stale. :)

Very useful.

I think in general the DH 2 needs more concise summaries. Hopefully they will find it's way into the final edition or at least on the DM screen.

Took a stab at setting up a table today. It's slow work, but I think I still like the idea.

Comments are very welcome, especially before I spend too much time working on this.
