Hey everyone I have a situation that came up and we're not sure what the correct ruling on this would be...

I have Col Serra in play. My opponent enhanced Col Serra with Intimidated and Dark Memories. If I won the edge would Col Serra still get an additional focus token from Intimidated and a damage from Dark Memories or would those be considered "card effects" and therefor would not take effect because I won the edge battle?

Col Serra's text reads: "During an engagement in which you have the edge this unit cannot be damaged or have focus tokens placed on it by enemy card effects or combat icons"

They're definitely card effects, and Col would be immune to them during any engagement in which the LS has won the edge (whether Col is participating or not by the by).

Note that if you lose the edge, however, he'll get a damage from Dark Memories from his own focus, then a focus from Intimidated, then a damage from Dark Memories from the focus from Intimidated. Then, if he's still alive, he can resolve his combat icons. You really want to win that edge battle.

You know, I'm not sure why anyone would call this game swingy :-)
