Storm

By Luddite, in Game Mechanics

The beta update #1 removes the Storm weapon quality.

Fragmentation Rounds (DH2b p151)

Effect: The weapon gains the Storm quality and its rate of fire is reduced by 1 to a minimum of 1.

So now that Storm is removed, what do Fragmentation rounds do, other than dropping the weapon RoF by 1?

I believe the Eldar ability, Bladestorm, suffers from the same problem.

There's a lot of head-scratching going on over the removal of that quality.

Technically its not Bladestorm that suffers, just that its reduced in effectiveness. Bladestorm was giving a weapon with Storm the Spray quality. Now its just giving a weapon the Spray quality. Its still pretty scary but not, you know, a death sentence (its a 180m spray atm).

Ah, sorry - got the weapon mixed up with the Bladestorm ability.

What I meant was that the weapon (Shuriken Catapults) lists Storm as an ability. I don't think the errata removed it, so right now it's just "undefined".

I'm actually kind of glad they got rid of the DH2 version of storm cause of what a roflstomp Bladestorm otherwise was, basically turning a Dire Avenger into a dude with six Titan sized flamethrowers.

All true, but now i have frag rounds that do nothing except reduce the autopistol's ROF.

I guess, replace them with dumdum rounds for now?

At least until beta update #2?

Ironically, back to what it was before the update. :)

I'm not saying frag s okay; it obviously needs to be fixed. Just amused at the result.
