Tournament August 18th need advice an 2 lists.

Hey guys,

I will be attending a tournament this coming Sunday and I'm stuck between to lists I'm thinking of bringing. I need some help on deciding on which list to bring as well as any squad building advice you can bring to the table.

List 1: Saber Squadron

      • Total Squad Points: 100

        Pilot: Soontir Fel
        Tie Interceptor (27)
        Upgrades:

        • Push The limit (3)

        Pilot: Turr Phennir
        Tie Interceptor (25)
        Upgrades:

        • Veteran Instincts (1)

        Pilot: Saber Squadron Pilot 1
        Tie Interceptor (21)
        Upgrades:

        • Veteran Instincts (1)

        Pilot: Saber Squadron Pilot 2
        Tie Interceptor (21)
        Upgrades:

        • Veteran Instincts (1)

        List 2: Black Squadron _____________________________________________________

        Pilot: "Backstabber"
        Tie Fighter (16)

        • No Upgrades Selected

      • Pilot: "Mauler Mithel"

The second list. You want to field as many ships as you can in a tournament. I play rebel and field 4. It always brings me in the top 3, but the swarms have won every tourney I've been to...I only got to play against 1 swarm during a tournament and it was close, leaving him with an "out of time" 3 point victory in the end...3 academy (36 points) vs (25)...given enough time, my rookie (who still had shields) might have finished off the wounded ties. We will never know.

Maybe check out something like this instead of first list:

Soontir Fel + Push the Limit + Stealth Device (33)
Turr Phennir + Veteran Instincts (26)
Alpha Squadron Pilot (18)
Howlrunner + Swarm Tactics + Stealth Device (23)

You have one attack less, "less agile" TIE instead of interceptor, but you gain dice rerolls + 2 stealths + better PS.

As for the second list i suggest taking this upgrades into consideration:

Darth Vader => Soontir Fel ; more firepower

Black squadron => Howlrunner; rerolls + u can take veteran instincts instead of swarm tactics on her

Backstabber => Alpha Squadron; bc now u have points to take alpha

so all in all u end up with this:

Soontir Fel + Swarm Tactics (29)
Howlrunner + Veteran Instincts (19)
Mauler Mithel + Veteran Instincts (18)
Black Squadron Pilot + Swarm Tactics (16)
Alpha Squadron Pilot (18)
