R2-D2

Probably been asked before but is his ability infinite and can do it even if the shields have all gone - seems very stronk to me

It can. It's fairly strong but if you're doing a green every time you get hit then you're going to be extremely predictable. Sometimes it is better to just get out of the way.

After executing a green maneuver, you may recover 1 shield (up to your shield value).

Pretty straight forward. If you have zero shields, you get 1. If you have full shields you get none. It costs 4 points and you can only have 1 (unique upgrade card). You are only going to gain one per turn.

Not a bad one to combine with Push The Limit and Engine Upgrade - green move to fix your shields and get rid of the stress from the previous Push The Limit, then you can boost to make up for the lost movement, and then perform another action :)

I used him on Wedge yesterday in a game against my son. It kept Wedge alive three or four times by giving him another hit to absorb damage. I was eventually able to get Wedge far enough away from the battle to restore the shields, but by the time he was ready to get back into it the game was over.

Did you win?

I did, actually. He had Soontir, Turr and Kath against my Wedge, Luke and Outer Rim Smuggler. He tried to focus his ships on Wedge, but got the dials for Soontir and Turr mixed up. I'd have let him switch them if he hadn't beaten me so handily the last two games. I was able to get Soontir and put a damage point on Turr, then I started pounding on Kath. He kept firing at Wedge, but was only doing a point or so at a time and R2 was able to regenerate enough shields to keep him alive. By the time Wedge was getting back into the fight, Luke and the Smuggler had finished off Turr and started in on Kath. The last shot from the Smuggler did one critical, which happened to be a Direct Hit and destroyed her. We both had fun.

I want to play now!
