Map product(s) for Edge of the Empire? Map resources in the web?

By cogollo, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

Dear all,

(my apologies if there is a similar topic anywhere else in the forums, but I did not find any)

I love the Beginner's box of Edge of the Empire, specially its maps, and I would buy any map product(s) FFG would publish.

I love the map series that Paizo publishes for their Pathfinder setting, and I think that a similar product line for Edge of the Empire would be very successful and would increase interest in the game, so I hope FFG decides at some point to publish something in that line.

In the meantime, do you know any good sci-fi (specially Star Wars) resources to buy/download maps to use in Edge of the Empires?

At the moment I only know of two resources, so please reply with any other sites you know so that we can have a nice resource list (or point me please to a place where such a resource list exists):

1. Maps of Mastery

http://www.mapsofmastery.com/

(best for Star Wars I've found so far... I heard about it in the Order66 podcast, which by the way is a great resource for Edge of the Empire)

2. Cartographer's Guild:

http://www.cartographersguild.com/content/

(I used it a lot for my D&D4 and WFRP3 campaigns... I even published a couple maps there, You can also find some very cool sci-fi maps)

I'm no professional at this, but I've started making maps for EotE. I made a topic in these forums a while ago:

http://community.fantasyflightgames.com/index.php?/topic/88047-mos-shuuta-expanded-free-mapsmap-creation-materials/

I don't know if this is the kind of thing you are looking for, but I'd like to work with the community to help make things that are useful. Let me know what you think.

Wow! Thanks a lot for sharing that, man. I will for sure try and use these maps in my campaign (we are going to buy an A3 plastifier in my gaming club, so I'll print them and plastify them... I'll send you pics when I do it, probably after summer).

Thanks a lot also for sharing the objects you used for your maps; they are really useful for building maps for amateurs... I have created some maps for my fantasy campaigns (I don't have the time for it now) and I know how much time it takes to make them, so I hope your players appreciate them, because these are real gold.

I wish you lots of fun with your maps in your campaigns.

As for what maps would be useful for the community, my bet is any maps related with the published adventures about areas not mapped in those adventures (Long Arm of the Hutt, Trouble Brewing from the Core rulebook,...), but anything will find some use sooner or later.

Do a web search for "Star Wars Minis Maps."

That should turn up several sites with fan-generated maps for use with WotC's Star Wars minis game. There's quite a lot to choose from, and best of all, they're free . Or at least, free in that you don't have to pay for the map. Cost to print them out is another story...
